Tara Huber, LPC, LMHC
About me
Hi, I’m Tara. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa with 19 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are. You don’t have to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or even know where to begin. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. Together, we’ll look at the thoughts, emotions, patterns, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck while also recognizing the strengths you already have. I enjoy helping clients build confidence, develop healthier coping skills, improve relationships, navigate family and parenting challenges, and adjust to difficult seasons or changes in life.
I believe meaningful change often begins with greater awareness and small, intentional steps—not perfection. Therapy isn’t about someone telling you how to live your life. It’s about having someone walk alongside you as you gain insight, discover what works for you, and move toward the life you want to create.
Reaching out for therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. You don’t have to do it perfectly—you just have to begin.
I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you take that next step.
