Tara Wiker, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years experience in the therapy domain. I have particular experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as various treatment protocols to treat trauma (including EMDR and Prolonged Exposure). I hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level 2 Certification and a Certificate in Trauma Therapy from The Trauma Institute and Child Trauma Institute. I use my training and my work with diverse populations coupled with a generalist practitioner's view to help clients balance validation and change strategies in support of attaining mutually-agreed upon goals.
As a primarily person-centered practitioner, I believe that clients have the answers to their struggles within themselves and I seek to utilize the therapeutic relationship to assist my clients in realizing their potential for growth and change.
Taking the first step toward change can be difficult, and I am here to help you along your journey with unconditional positive regard and put in your disposal the tools and interventions that are within the realm of best practices for your presenting challenges.

When I started, I was skeptical of the therapy process overall. Tara was able to identify what I needed before I even knew. She helped me trust the process. Now that I trust the process, I am making progress and noticing differences in everyday situations. Thank you, Tara!
