Dr. Taryn Beard, Psychologist
About me
Hello and welcome! Life can be a time of transformation, opportunity, and joy. We can also experience emotional pain, stress, and a variety of bumps in the road. I am passionate about guiding people through these challenges and towards self-discovery.
Here is a little bit about my educational background: I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Alliant University, San Diego Campus. I am also a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Washington. My doctoral research focused on yoga and mental health. I continue to pursue integrating therapy with alternative healing practices.
My approach is informed by Psychodynamic and Integrative Therapies. This means I believe our past has shaped our present and how we respond to life. I am also competent in cognitive behavioral therapy, feminist therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and self-compassion focused therapy. I focus on establishing a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable. I have a particular interest in helping you gain insight into interpersonal conflicts, manage and reduce depression and anxiety symptoms, cope with emotional pain, and with identity formation.
In addition to my role as a clinician, I love to cook, paint, travel, and spend time with my loved ones.
