About me

I believe many people are combating difficult emotional problems everyday without much support for many reasons. As I can understand how seeking help can be intimidating, it is my professional and personal goal to always strive to offer my clients a warm, empathic, and safe place to address their challenges. If you are struggling with a particular issue, or simply looking for a safe place to express yourself, I'm excited to begin the process with you.

I am a clinical psychologist who is licensed in Wisconsin. I joined the BetterHelp team because I have always believed that mental health services are more effective in a range of formats, and in a manner that makes them accessible anytime and anywhere. As a millennial, I understand the importance that technology plays in one's life and how teletherapy is more convenient and comfortable for many people. My areas of expertise include anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, sexual problems, and mood disorders. I am also passionate to serve those whose trauma has affected their lives in many ways and work with you to empower yourself and gain control of your life path. Additionally, as an immigrant who moved to the US at a young age, I also hope to work with individuals struggling to identify their cultural identity and navigate complex intergenerational trauma and multicultural issues. I am bilingual in Vietnamese and English and can provide therapy in both languages. I utilize a client-centered approach (meaning that YOU are the expert on you) that will allow you to identify your own strengths and resources, as well as cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches.

I look forward to starting the recovery journey with you.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Thanh Ngo. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I working with many different mental health professionals over the last ~15 years and Dr. Ngo is by far one of the best. She is able to balance goal-focused structure (so I can see myself learning and improving from week to week) with mindfulness and acceptance (so I can be okay with the weeks that are hard.) She is incredibly insightful, intelligent, patient, and kind. She is great at explaining things, she shares really helpful metaphors, and adapts to what I need in the moment. I really can’t say enough good things.

Dr. Ngo is a wonderful counselor who provides a safe and judgement free space to discuss and work through difficult emotions and situations. Her compassionate approach along with the tools she provides created an environment and game plan for my therapy that has been very successful. She challenges and pushes me in the best way and I would recommend her highly to anyone seeking counseling, especially for the first time.

Dr. Ngo is exactly what I have been looking for in a therapist. She is patient and compassionate, and she uses a blend of different therapy techniques to help me process the issues I am working through. She is gentle and professional with out fail. Dr. Ngo challenges me to face my problems but is always sensitive to the fact that I may not be ready for something. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am so great full to have Dr. Ngo in my corner to help me grow and achieve my full potential.
