Timara Tyler, LMHC
About me
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with over 7 years of professional work experience in mental health and addiction. I began my studies at Stephen F. Austin State University from which I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Additionally, during my undergraduate studies, I minored in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education and music performance. Following my undergraduate work, I earned my Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy.
I am passionate about community which has led me to working with individuals, young adults, couples and their families in diverse settings such as private practice, therapeutic schools, outpatient treatment, residential treatment, and criminal justice settings.
I use a multitude of therapeutic techniques including Expressive Arts, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I utilize systematic therapeutic practices with a sense of cultural sensitivity while helping you find new passions and purpose. I specialize in working with addiction, spirituality, women's issues, self-esteem, family, couples, divorce/separation, social skills, career, anxiety, depression, and multicultural issues.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
