I employ a kind, direct style that challenges thinking errors, looks for actionable solutions, and empowers the client to achieve their goals. Dialectical Behavioral, Attachment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles are central in session. Being informed about and addressing medical/neurological causes that impact behavioral health is a priority for me. Our family is multi-racial and we have adopted 11 children and fostered many others with medical and psychiatric special needs. Faith centers my life (Rom. 1:16).
Past practice settings include churches, youth homes, schools, psychiatric and medical-surgical hospitals, homeless shelters, addiction residential facilities, home health care, and outpatient mental health clinics in urban and rural areas. I hold a Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University and have an LMSW license (Clinical & Macro practice) from the State of Michigan. Areas of practice include trauma, aging, anger, bipolar, narcissism, aging, caregiver stress, depression, anxiety, Christian spirituality (Proverbs 27:6), young adulthood, sensory processing, and neurological differences.

Extremely knowledgeable, understanding and help me see things in a bigger picture.
Timothy is so compassionate, understanding, and supportive. He listens, provides insight, supportive resources and truly understands the challenges I am facing with my narcissistic parent. It is so relieving to finally speak to someone who truly understands my situation and provides many tools and supportive guidance to handle each day and situation. He responds quickly and makes me feel validated and hopeful that things will get better with time. I’m so thankful I decided to try BetterHelp and found him as a counselor!
Timothy has been great!
My counselor is very knowledgeable and supportive. Such a saving grace in my life!
Tim is a solid adviser. He is very personal and sticks strongly to a Christian context. He does not shy away from telling you his thoughts.
Tim has been a great counsellor. I’ve felt a lot of personal growth while meeting with him, and the people around me have seen it as well.
Easy to talk to. Motivating. Understanding. Compassionate. He has been so helpful and respectful of my journey and point of view, while providing helpful insight and support. Truly helpful. Highly recommend.
Timothy is one of the most understanding and supportive therapists I have had the chance to interact with. He is super flexible with his hours and has really great constructive advice and guidance for being able to take each day by the horns. He also is really great about reaching out with advice on how to view a situation differently than you might initially think to.
