About me

Hello Welcome to BetterHelp Community! My name is Tina Lass I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in rural New York. I have been providing psychotherapy for over 15 years. I graduated from University of Buffalo in 2005 with my Masters in Social Work. For the first part of my career I worked with the developmentally disabled helping them to achieve higher levels of self awareness and problem solving skills. I enjoyed this very much as this enabled me to hone my skills while helping a vulnerable population. I am currently working in an outpatient clinic affiliated with hospital and have been doing so since 2015. The population I work with now is varied in ages, background and diagnosis.

I believe that everyone has the right to be happy. I value self awareness, personal responsibility and growth. My goal with my clients is to listen, understand and work with their unique strengths and abilities to help them lead their best lives. I am your partner in our work together.

Tina is an amazing counselor. She has very thoughtful responses and makes clear effort to makes sure she understands what I'm going through. I've had very bad experiences with in person therapy in the past, it took a lot for me to sign up for betterhelp, but Im so glad I did. I feel heard when I talk to Tina and I would recommend her to anyone looking for therapy.

Even after disappearing for a while, she responded almost instantly, I've also been using the journal now, which has helped with communicate how I feel on days where talking to her direc is a challenge.

I've been working with Tina for almost three months. She's been wonderfully accepting, respectful and supportive.

She has a perspective I find so grounding and valuable. I feel that working with her, and through the course of our weekly conversations, I've become a more integrous, more whole human being. I find myself constantly relearning certain things, some of which are – our similarities as people regardless of beliefs, connecting with others by simply being human, the acceptance of things as they are and myself as I am.

I appreciate her thoughts, experiences, perspective and expertise. I really like her as a person and find her easy to have a conversation with and a great companion.
