About me

Hello! I’m Tracey, an Emotional Therapeutic Counsellor and Highly Sensitive Personality (HSP) Coach.

Originally from Canada, I have been fortunate to live and travel across the globe, allowing me to gain a unique perspective and outlook on life, which is embedded in my practice. Prior to re-training as a Therapeutic Counsellor in 2020, I worked as a Practitioner in a variety of roles within the Criminal Justice sector, with particular specialisms in relationship difficulties, addiction and sexualised behaviours.

By incorporating my understanding and knowledge of human behaviour and the powerful work of the Inner Child model, allows me to provide therapy and counselling to individuals, helping them acknowledge and manage the emotional blocks that might be preventing them from achieving their goals and happiness.

Special areas of Interest

I am also a volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Services and thus have a solid understanding of grief and bereavement. I have worked with clients with a range of presenting issues over the years. I have a particular interest in working with victims of domestic abuse, anxiety and depression, issues with self-esteem, trauma and highly sensitive personality trait (HSP) / Empaths.

Emotional Therapy will support you in realising where in your life these thoughts were formed, and how your behaviour patterns have developed as a direct result of your experiences.

Anxiety
When life becomes so difficult to manage, and everyday decisions and activities are creating more stress. It is time to do something about it.
If you are struggling and don't know how to find relief from the feelings of panic and negative thoughts, Emotional Therapy could be the answer you are looking for.
The gentle techniques used by Emotional Therapeutic counselling helps you to discover the root cause of your anxiety and support you through the process of change.

Relationship Issues
When couples are having relationship difficulties, they often struggle to repair their relationship. They find it hard to understand the other person's point of view and how their own actions might contribute to the problem. There becomes an urgent need for change, not only for their sakes, but for their families too.
Emotional Therapy promotes different methods of communicating which allows you to work through your issues, both during and after sessions.
Emotional Therapy provides a safe space to express your feelings and thoughts to help you to understand each other. Using different communication styles can help towards a more harmonious relationship.

Divorce & Separation
Divorce and separation can be challenging experiences for individuals. It is often a stressful period, with emotions similar to those associated with bereavement, but without the finality of death. Feelings of loss and despair are common, and the future challenges may appear difficult to manage.
Emotional support from someone who is not connected to the situation, can be objective, someone who is there for you, is essential in getting through these difficult times.

Inner Child
The term 'inner child' refers to the part of us that holds childhood memories and feelings. Influenced by significant people, we make subconscious decisions about how to behave to fit in with family. These early experiences shape our adult behaviour, as we follow an internalised 'rule book'. Our inner child seeks attention, love, and understanding. Emotional Therapy can help you understand and nurture this inner child.

Bereavement / Loss
While it's often said that 'time is a great healer', in reality, 'over time, you heal'. The grieving process includes stages like shock, denial, disbelief, guilt, pain, anger, and depression.
Grief is a process that involves both positive and negative experiences. Over time, individuals may learn to adjust and restructure their lives to reach acceptance.
Emotional Therapy provides a safe environment to discuss thoughts and feelings without judgment or disapproval. It can sometimes be difficult to communicate openly with close acquaintances about one's true emotions. There is no specific duration for mourning. Being listened to and acknowledged can facilitate the return to a hopeful state.
Emotional Therapy uses techniques that gently allow you to talk in a safe space and be listened to.

Assertiveness / Self-confidence / Self-esteem
Our beliefs about our identity can be deeply rooted in the past. The subconscious feelings of 'not being good enough’ are most likely to originate from our inner child.
Healing your inner child is key to self-happiness. When happier, you embrace positivity, fun, laughter, and spontaneity often buried since childhood.
Confidence comes from within, as we grow more confident, we become more assertive. As we become more assertive, we start to take ownership of our future and begin the process of moving forward.
Emotional Therapy allows you to explore your 'mistaken beliefs' that have been programmed by others and replace them with their true beliefs.

Abuse - Emotional, Physical, Sexual.
Psychological abuse, also referred to as emotional abuse, is a form of maltreatment where an individual is subjected to behaviour that may lead to psychological trauma, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Psychological, physical, and sexual abuse involve a person who attempts to frighten, control and isolate you. The abuser could be a family member, spouse or romantic partner.
The aftermath of abuse can leave individuals feeling emotionally broken and unable to cope. Emotional therapy helps you process, and release stored hurt and pain by sharing your story.

In addition, another area of interest is Highly Sensitive Personality (HSP) trait and Empaths.
