Hi, my name is Tracy Bailey and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Dakota. I have had National Counselor Certification and received my Master of Arts for Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. I hold certificates in Suicide Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, And Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a high school special education teacher.
I utilize a person-centered approach and believe the relationship between the counselor and client are a significant factor for client success. I believe therapy should be client-driven and work with the client to develop appropriate goals and make adjustments when needed. In addition to CBT and DBT, I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Christian Counseling.
I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in working with individuals and families of individuals with disabilities, chronic conditions, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger management, and unexpected changes in life.

Tracy listens with focus and validates my efforts. I feel like I have a better understanding of what is going on and ways to manage. Also that I have been unknowingly been making my own modifications that are constructive, and make sense. I feel more like there is a practical reality that I need to, and can, navigate, and less like I am just making excuses or is too complex to make significant progress with in the short trem.
Tracy's insight is incredible! She utilizes multiple techniques that are helpful, and her worksheets have been a key component of my progress.
Tracy has been a great support for me during this professional crisis. I hope to continue to work with her to improve and feel better every day. Kudos to her professionalism and interesting readings she sent.
I’m just a few weeks in and I’m feeling Confident Tracy is going to help me so much get through stuff in my life.
I enjoyed working with Tracy. She is a good listener and is willing to share her own experiences when they're relevant. This gave me confidence in following the advice and techniques she suggested.
I love how Tracy has asked me to fill out assessment forms. I don’t like doing forms and it’s hard for me to keep my attention but it has provided me with so much information about myself for me and it’s already helping me deep in my understanding of what’s going on for myself and I haven’t even had an opportunity to do our first session live. I highly recommend Tracy and I look forward to building a relationship with her.
Tracy has been amazing! She's super supportive and let's me know it's okay to feel what I feel
Tracy really helped get to the root of my anxiety quickly and work with me to live a more full and stress free. I am so thankful for all her help.
Tracy listens to my concerns and helps me find ways to cope and deal with issues. She checks in on me often. She doesn’t wait for my appointment. I really appreciate that! She cares!
She sends timely encouraging texts. She finds articles I am interested in and then forwards to me. She has a consistent in reaching out so that I know she is available if I am struggling to even respond.
Tracy has been very helpful and open minded on how to best help me. I would recommend her 100 percent
I love Tracy! Her suggestion, guidance and God centered healing gives me the ability to move forward in my life.
My first time for counseling and I am very impressed. The worksheets seemed daunting at first but it got me thinking and allows for Tracy to know without having to discuss a lot of it during our conversation appointment. A very welcomed surprise was the willingness to check in on me, as I am not getting that from my family. A simple how are you goes a very long way in my book. Thank you Tracy!
She is amazing and truly care about your mental stability.. thank you for caring
Tracy quickly helped me to focus on specific issues in my life and has shown me multiple ways to begin working on them. I feel very comfortable talking to her and I am starting to have more hope for the future, and feel less like depression and anxiety will always control me. I feel like I have a shoulder to lean on when I can message her at any time about my feelings and emotions. Tracy will reply with thoughtful responses and help me sort through what is going on and direct me in a more positive direction. I feel I can concentrate better on beginning to work on myself and truly change my thought patterns which is exactly what I was looking for when I joined betterhelp. Thank you Tracy!
Tracy has been great to work with. Very supportive and helped me add many tools to my life's toolbox.
Tracy really cares and wants to help you explore real solutions to the problems you're facing. I had to go through a few therapists but I could tell right away how different and professional Tracy's approach is.
Even though we never officially got started in counseling services with Tracy, she was still supportive during a difficult time in our lives. Her concern has been appreciated.
Even after just a few weeks, I have found my experience with Tracy to be of great importance and value to me. Among many important attributes, she is focused on focusing on what's important to me. She is an excellent listener and provides excellent feedback, ideas and other resources, even as she checks in about what is most helpful. I feel that I am getting clearer about what is important to me and what to do about my challenges and life quandaries. I feel supported and already have an increased confidence about the way forward for my life. Thank you, Tracy!
Tracy is a great counselor. She provides a variety of sources and ways to engage in therapy and reaches out frequently to check in. I feel like she listens and hears what I’m saying and works to understand my concerns and what I’m trying to work on. I really enjoy working with her.
Tracy is absolutely amazing. She has helped me so much over the past couple of months and has helped me completely transform my life. I've always been afraid to start therapy, but she has made this process easy and accessible. She truly cares for her clients, and she is incredibly supportive. I don't know where I would be without her.
Tracy is an extremely caring and supportive counselor. I’ve had counselors before where I could drop off the face of the earth and they wouldn’t notice, but Tracy truly cares and wants to know how you are doing and wants to help. I really appreciate her knowledge and guidance, and highly recommend counseling with her.
Very helpful and compassionate. Made sure to check in and clarify that I was getting what I needed to out of this. Felt like I could always share and not be judged or diminished. Very happy with the help.
Tracy's great... checks in and keeps me on task!
Tracy has been a great support over the last few months and has been helping me through difficult dates such as anniversaries and other such things. My anxiety has improved immensely and I feel better equipped now to deal with future challenges.
Tracy is really nice and helps you to untangle your own issues from an outsiders nonbias, not tangled in the emotions of it view. It's refreshing! Her tips are really great and she has a way of presenting them in a non forceful way.
Tracy has been so helpful in my divorce. She listens well. She is caring, but tells me the hard truths when I need to hear them. Thank you, Tracy!
Tracy asks me appropriate questions to find the worksheets/exercises and info that will help me communicate better. When she thinks something might not help me as much, she will give ideas for a different approach. She lets me know we can always go back to the other approach. She wants me let her know when I have completed one exercise and am ready for another one. And, she wants to know if it was helpful. :) She is EXCELLENT! Even with the small areas that aren't as significant, she will find the right things to help me. I am very happy with my progress and my way of thinking because of her.
THANK YOU TRACY!!!
Tracy is very supportive and caring. I talked with a few counselors on here and did not feel that they were a good fit until I was matched with Tracy. It is not just a job for her, she truly cares.
Tracy has been very helpful as a sounding board for my emotions going through a divorce after 30 years of a bad marriage. She has helped me find ways to deal with emotions and is good at listening and asking probing questions.
She's been very caring, kind, helpful and understanding through my struggles. And provides practical solutions to specific needs.
I'm loving my experience with Tracy so far. She is patient, gentle, and intentional with our building relationship, and I'm grateful to be connected! She's helping me build the career I've always wanted for myself, and I know that this bonding will lead to feeling more comfortable in the deeper work too.
amazing, helped me when I really needed it and has a great span of knowledge!
Tracy has been very supportive and her advise has helped me. She understands my concerns very well and has good answers for my questions.
My first session and time with Tracy so far has been really positive and constructive. I feel in very good hands for my journey to better mental health =)
She has been very helpful and the worksheets that she has been sending have been very helpful to challenge my thinking.
Amazing Christian councilor who’s extremely friendly and attentive. She has helped me see the true value in having a councilor, with intelligent insight, and memory for my specific life details.
