Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I have experience working mostly with adults. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, relationship issues, trauma, confidence and self-esteem and career challenges.
I am committed to helping people through a method specific to their needs. I’m here to counsel, and counseling isn’t a “one size fits all” when you have a lot of different people with different issues and different responses to those issues.
When a person experiences a life stressor, life may seem like it is unraveling. It is my passion to prevent the fabric of one’s life from further unraveling. It is my intention to help that person sew the unraveled threads back together through therapy. We do it together in a way that is appropriate and in accordance with specific needs of that person. That is why I have been trained in a range of modalities: cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, gestalt therapy, person-centered therapy, and humanism. I counsel people from all backgrounds, including children, adults and families. It is my moral code that we don’t ever stop trying to be better people, to understand ourselves better, and to address concerns in our lives in a healthy manner so that we are whole, complete, and safe.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Out of all the therapists I’ve connected with through BetterHelp, she’s the first I feel like hears me. She keeps me wanting to get help instead of giving up.

I like that she texting on me even if I don’t respond. I don’t know her very well, but I poured my heart out to her one day and she has sent me messages trying to check up on me and I think it’s pretty awesome. She’s definitely in her element with her profession. I’m grateful to have her

I am not one to open up to people, but Trista is so easy to talk to. No judgement, just understanding. She is helping me understand a different perspective of myself and giving me tools to think in a positive manner.

I highly recommend Trista to anyone struggling with their mental health!
I tried other therapy outlets before deciding on Betterhelp. I was matched with Trista and the bond was instant. I am a trauma survivor, she didn't hesitate to get to know me and my trauma. She's very understanding and patient. She only offers texting, but that's fine with me as I have a difficult time expressing myself face to face. I look forward to what our therapy journey brings in the future.

Incredible, she’s the best therapist I’ve ever had. Insightful, contemplative, and honestly more helpful than she even realizes.
Written on Jun 26, 2020 after therapy with Trista for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, eating disorders, and self esteem
When I started counseling I was at an all time low. In the few months that I've been talking to Trista she's helped me get a much better grasp on my reality and has helped me significantly to find myself again. She quickly and methodically broke down my walls and gave me a lot of things to work on. And she had me address things I didnt think was important because she could tell that they were. She's an incredible therapist. Thank you for everything you have done for me so far Trista. I really appreciate you and all of the help you've given me.

She's wonderful, I've had two sessions and I feel like I'm talking to a friend. I feel like I'm in a safe zone. I feel like I can talk about what I need to without being judged. She's already teaching me things that I find useful. I'm very excited about her being my therapist.
Written on May 20, 2020 after therapy with Trista for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, eating disorders, sleeping disorders, self esteem, anger management, and bipolar disorder
I am very impressed with Trista’s ability to see through my walls and get to the heart of my issues. Always caring and supportive, she doesn’t let me disparage myself and sweetly calls me on my negative self talk. I highly recommend her. Right from the beginning I’ve had some of those “lightning bolt” revelations from her.

Written on Nov 15, 2019 after therapy with Trista for 2 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, and career difficulties
The best part of working with Trista is that not only does she truly listen to you, but she has so many ideas and helpful techniques to try. She also is open to what works for you so if one approach isn't working, you can move onto the next to really find what works best for you and your situation. I already feel so much better in the short time I've been working with her and I feel so much more control over my mental health. Overall, I couldn't recommend Trista more!

Written on Nov 16, 2018 after therapy with Trista for 5 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, lgbt, family conflicts, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, self esteem, and anger management
I began working with Trista at a really pivotal time in my life and I am lucky I did. I was headed down a destructive path and she helped me to acknowledge and work with that in healthy ways. I, fortunately, did not continue engaging in the destructive behaviors I was struggling with and we have been working a lot around the underlying issues. I have a long way to go but I feel really supported with her through her interventions and skills. She rocks!

Written on Aug 13, 2018 after therapy with Trista for 5 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship, family, trauma and abuse, grief, sleeping, and self esteem
Trista has been patient, thorough, and compassionate in helping navigate me through the journey of healing from a childhood sexual assault. She understand my problems even more than I do and asks the exact right questions to get my brain thinking about solutions instead of dwelling on the problem. I feel I have found a therapist that wants to walk the journey with me instead simply asking me to figure it out on my own.
