About me

I'm a licensed therapist with an MS in counseling. I grew up in the military and have moved a lot. My training was in Alabama, but I'm currently practicing in Wisconsin. I have experience working with all ages of mental health consumers (age 4-70) with a primary focus on adolescents and young adults. I have worked for 3 years as an outpatient therapist with individuals and groups on a wide variety of topics: bullying, gender identity, schizophrenia, ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, succeeding in the classroom, finding and holding the “good fit” job, and even just discussions about life transitions (moving, divorce, growing up). I have facilitated drug and alcohol sessions and provided crisis response to suicidal, sudden-loss grief, and trauma situations. I’ve worked closely with school staff, community professionals, law enforcement, inpatient facilities, and medical health practitioners.

I don't like to get hung up on diagnoses, as I prefer to meet people where they are and work to help them get where they want to be. I'm strongly influenced by Carl Rogers and believe strongly in unconditional positive regard. That is, every person has worth, no matter how they got where they are today.
