About me

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!

Hi, I’m Valerie Harris-Reamer. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with women who have experienced tough stuff in their childhood and feel like they have lost their way. My goal is to help you stop losing control and start encouraging you to see healing and transformation and live your best life.

Do you turn to food, alcohol, or drugs to deal with feeling lonely or rejected? Have you lost the joyful feelings that you used to have in life? Do you feel fear stricken, even in the “comfort” of your own home? Do you feel like there are so many things to manage and your forever growing “to do list” leaves you feeling completely overwhelmed? Do you feel lost in life despite having people tell you how successful you are? Do you constantly fight with your partner? Do you feel lonely despite being surrounded with family and friends? Have you lost a sense of meaning in your life? Is your mind is working overtime, leaving you exhausted? If so, I’m here to help.

I am an authentic, compassionate, encouraging therapist that can help you get your life back on track. I provide care for those experiencing a lot of pressure, emotions that feel out of control, and feeling overwhelmed in life.

What makes me different: I accept people with a lot of compassion, just as they are, without judgement.

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I’m human. I’ve been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.

I am a survivor too. I struggled a lot with the pain from the past. I know what it’s like to have difficult childhood experiences and still be affected by them well into adulthood. I know what it’s like to sit with a therapist and walk through the journey of self-discovery and healing transformation.

I get it!

My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today. Being a therapist is inspiring and rewarding. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives. The most rewarding thing about being a Therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, more free, and excited about their life and where they are headed.

I am committed to you and your goals of healing and transformation. Let's do this!

Valerie is super knowledgeable and understanding. She knows different ways to calm me down when I’m triggered. She’s also found a way to explain things in a manner that I can understand clearly.

Working with Valerie is like having a super insightful friend who's been through it all, is an incredible listener, asks just the right questions, and helps you see things with a new perspective. I've had traditional counselors who offered nothing but a pair of ears. Valerie is a real find!

Valerie made me feel at ease quickly, and together we zoomed in on what my needs were. Questions were asked that efficiently helped her pinpoint how to support me and proceed with therapy. I felt very supported during video sessions and also felt comfortable speaking my mind. I was heard, and a number of times Valerie shared perspectives that I hadn't considered, which helped me find clarity about my situation. Valerie is a true professional whom I felt comfortable with, which easily the most important thing to find in therapy.
