I am a Licenced Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania and I have been helping people lead happier, more fufilling lives for over 20 years. I received my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Drexel University in 1989 and my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia Unversity in New York City in 1992. I have worked in inpatient psychiatric settings, outpatient psychiatric clinics, private practice, and crisis lines. I have helped adults with varying issues, from depression and anxiety to relationship issues, addictions, and trauma.
Life gets hard and messy sometimes. Things happen to us that can lead us to feel sad, depressed, anxious, overwhelmed and stuck. Did you know that our thoughts control our feelings ? It's true, they do. This is good news when good things happen to us but it can be bad news when bad things happen. I will help you learn to control your thoughts so that you have more contorl over your feelings and your life, even when bad things happen. I will help you turn difficult situations into positive personal growth and an improved mood. I use Postive Psychology techniques, Cognitive Behavioral therapy techniques, mindfullness, and meditation/vizulazation/breathing techniques to help you reach you goal of improved mood and improved self control. When you have control over your thoughts, you have control over your life!

Valerie is awesome. Extremely educated, and always super effective in communicating ways to help me through whatever I’m going through.
