Let me tell you a little bit about myself, I am Victoria Prisco, a clinically trained art therapist with a specialization in trauma. In the state of NY I am a licensed art therapist (LCAT) and in the state of PA I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC), advanced addiction counselor (CAADC) and nationally recognized art therapist (ATR). I have been providing individual and group therapy for the past 15 years at medical, drug & alcohol and psychiatric programs.
As a therapist on better help, I am a CBT therapist, which means we focus on re-wiring your brain to reduce symptoms in the here and now, without going back and re-hashing your past. This holistic approach teaches you wellness routines, that you can carry with you outside of the better help membership and truly does reduce symptoms without the focus being on medication management. This approach has been very successful with Better Help clients and makes regular use of the messaging/journal feature.
I work on Better Help part time, in the evenings M - F, offering messages and 25 minute live messaging sessions. Currently I have open availabilities on Monday and Tuesday evenings. I am active on messenger and you can expect to get information, affirmations, meditations and therapeutic practices from me throughout the week to help build your wellness routines and adjust your mind maps to decrease depression, anxiety and trauma reactions. CBT is a practice that takes work and consistency, so while we may be meeting once a week, for best results we will be coordinating through messenger regularly. The state of Pennsylvania requires that our live sessions occur while we are both in PA and that I obtain a copy of your state ID or driver's license for auditing purposes.
I would also like to note that while I am an addictions counselor, I am not providing addiction recovery treatment through better help. Ethically, I feel that teletherapy is not the appropriate platform for folks trying to get sober or whom are recent in sobriety and trying to maintain. There is a lot to be said for in person accountability, drug screens and peer support early in recovery that teletherapy can just not replace.

Victoria has been very active with me and my counseling. She offers a variety of goals, worksheets and writing prompts then takes the time to discuss everything with me. Very good with listening and offering different perspectives on situations. I feel comfortable confiding in her and opening up about things that are troubling me.
