About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker and I have worked in outpatient mental health settings and in the school settings. My experiences range from working with various forms of trauma, which encompass major catastrophic events, losses, personal tragedies, natural disasters, and pandemic. Stress has become an indispensable part of life today. One does not have to go through the journey of life alone balancing various responsibilities, stress, and unpredictability. Children, adolescents, and adults experience varied types of stresses along with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, loneliness, relationship difficulties, conflict, and difficulties at various fronts. I am here to support you so you don't have to negotiate this alone so that you return to your optimal functioning by addressing these emotions/feelings in a constructive and functional manner. Adults, children, and adolescents can process these big emotions in a non-judgemental, supportive, and empathic environment by a skilled professional. The belief is that everyone can access their intrinsic strengths with appropriate supports and interventions no matter how impossible the situation may seem. Let's get to harnessing our potential, and strengths!

I have a growing practice specializing in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have over 25 years of experience working with adults and children in outpatient mental health settings and school settings. My approach begins with an accurate assessment of an individual's presenting problem, health, and mental health predispositions, individual strengths, and supports within their family system and community; this is to facilitate a well-informed course of action. Individuals can address their struggles in a safe, compassionate, and therapeutic environment. The process of therapy doesn't have to be daunting and I understand that one size does not fit all. We can have a collaborative process to formulate a course of action, whether it short-term goal-based, or long-term therapy. You can be the creator of your destiny and reach the goal that you have wanted for yourself with the right kind of support and tools.
I have wide-ranging experience in dealing with catastrophic events (COVID-19, 911, Aurora theatre shooting) to abuse, loss, etc.. I am adept in working with various DSM diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc.. I have worked in clinics Queens and Brooklyn neighborhoods and also in Denver Metro area. My experiences include working children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience in using short-term evidenced-based treatment methods. I am also keenly aware of the impact of culture on an individual's method of comprehending and processing various life situations and is adept in providing culturally sensitive interventions. I strongly believe that each individual is unique and is capable of reaching their full potential despite the situation they may be facing and hence her treatment is always strength-based and non-judgmental. I am a lifelong learner and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Behavioral Health and Leadership.
