I have had a private practice as a psychologist for more than 30 years. In my practice, I have focused on issues of stress, anxiety, avoidance, self-control, depression, relationship problems, and life restructuring. Before my full-time private practice, I was a tenured professor of clinical psychology and the director of clinical training at two major universities. I also have experience working as a couples and divorce mediator, a parenting trainer, a psychological evaluator, and a life coach.
My approach to coaching and to therapy is goal specific, action oriented, and solution oriented. It involves skill building and awareness and it focuses on empowering the client to develop the skills and control necessary for meaningful and lasting change.
The client is helped to create specific, measurable, achievable, and realistic goals. Collaboratively, the goals are refined and prioritized and are placed within a workable time-frame. Strategies to achieve the goals are practiced, assessed, and revised. Personal awareness, effective choice, and skill-building are emphasized. Methods for continued awareness and self-management are developed. The results are the acquisition of the desired changes, restored feelings of well-being and self-confidence, and a renewed sense of relief and independence.
I understand and appreciate how important the issues are to those who have entrusted me with their confidence. I look forward to working with you to help resolve those issues. I love what I do and have been gratified by my clients’ enthusiasm and success.

i really appreciate his help
Dr.Steinman has been quite helpful and it’s easy talking to him
I’m a new patient of Dr. Steinman. He has been very insightful and has given timely feedback to my current situations. I look forward to learning more skills to become better at communication with his guidance.
I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Steinman. He's a good listener and his many years of experience are evident in his insights to what I'm going through. He has a calming presence and from our first session helped me become more aware of some of the inner issues that I'm dealing with. He's great!
Dr. Steinman is quick to call out my distorted thinking. He is working with me so I can be better. He doesn't enable my spiraling. He is very responsive. I am having a good experience with counseling with him.
Very kind and easy to talk too
I love him
Dr. Steinman is very responsive and professional. He is not afraid to say it how it is.
