I have had a licensed private practice as a psychologist for more than 35 years. In my practice, I have focused on issues of stress, anxiety, avoidance, self-control, relationship problems, and life restructuring. Before my full-time private practice, I was a tenured professor of clinical psychology at two major universities. I was the director of clinical training at one university and the chairman of the Psychology Department at the other. I also have experience working as a divorce mediator, a parenting consultant, a psychological evaluator, and a life coach.
My approach to therapy is goal specific, action oriented, and solution oriented. It involves skill building and awareness and it focuses on empowering the client to develop the skills and control necessary for meaningful and lasting change.
The client is helped to create specific, achievable, and realistic goals. The goals are refined and organized and are placed within a workable time-frame. Strategies to achieve the goals are developed, practiced, and revised. Personal awareness, effective choice, method, and skill-building are emphasized. Awareness and self-management methods are developed. The result is the acquisition of desired changes, restored feelings of well-being and self-confidence, and a renewed sense of self-control and independence.
I appreciate how important the issues are to those who have entrusted me with their confidence. I look forward to helping my clients resolve those issues. I love what I do and have been gratified by my clients’ enthusiasm and success.
