Wellington Cesar Assis Bueno
About me
I'm Cesar Bueno. Originally from Brazil, I've called the UK home for over two decades, where I live with my loving family. My profound love for human connection led me to pursue a career in therapy, and I find immense joy in helping individuals uncover their potential.
Since earning my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2015, accredited by the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body), I've dedicated myself to private practice. Additionally, I've completed placements at The Awareness Centre, NHS Surgeries, and TTP Drugs and Alcohol in Deptford- all in London. Today I have accrued more than 3000 hours of client work. I am Clinical Supervisor, in the attempt of spreading my passion for effective and ethical therapeutic work. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. My primary approach is Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), developed by Dr. Habib Davanloo, which I integrate with other modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. Alongside ISTDP, I draw from Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) by Diana Fosha, mindfulness practices, neuroscience-informed techniques, and selected CBT interventions. I recognise that each client is unique, and I tailor interventions to provide a personalised therapeutic experience.
Together, we identify the internal conflicts contributing to your suffering, clarify what you wish to address, and set clear goals and desired outcomes—what I refer to as the therapeutic task. My aim is to help you feel better as efficiently as possible. I do not believe therapy necessarily needs to be a long process, which is why I continuously train in approaches that are evidence-based, effective, and short-term in nature. In our therapeutic journey, we walk side by side as equals.
My goal is to create a nurturing, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your emotions and thoughts that have been influencing your behaviour. Together, we unravel negative thinking patterns, empowering you to approach life with clarity and resilience. You set the pace, and I’m here to provide steadfast support. Through a blend of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and neuroscience-backed interventions, we discover healthier ways for you to navigate both your inner world and the world around you. I see emotions having a natural flow, and fully experiencing them, rather than avoiding them, brings a sense of completion and transformation, accelerating the healing process.
Nowadays with the event of internet, I have found online counselling an effective way to work with my clients. I have English or Portuguese speaking clients all over the world.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Wellington Cesar Assis Bueno. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Cesar has helped me tap into feelings and emotions that I had buried very deeply. It is still a work in progress but from the first session, I have felt unjudges, supported and safe to discuss issues I haven't been able to get out with anyone else before. Cesar listens and then suggests ways and actions for me to better understand myself and deal with my feelings. I would recommend Cesar to anyone who just wants to talk about anything going on which they needs help with or can't quite understand. He will help you make sense of yourself, your thoughts and your feelings.

Never managed to do therapy before in my life couldn’t have asked for a better experience than I’ve had. I still have to say I struggle opening up to anyone and probably perhaps some strange particularly therapist but I say always I’m not particularly looking forward to today’s session and every single session I do not know where the time goes I could not recommend see more highly.

I feel very lucky to have come across Cesar on BetterHelp! In a short number of sessions he has helped me form a new perspective on a number of the issues I was facing. He is incredibly perceptive and knowledgeable, and has helped me understand a lot about anxiety and how to connect better with how I’m feeling. Would highly recommend!
