Greeting and welcome to Better Help!
My name is Wendy Henner and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Arizona and Oregon, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University, and my Master of Arts degree, specializing in Applied Behavioral Science and Systems Counseling, from Bastyr University.
For the past 20 years, I have been working with individuals and couples who present with a variety of personal struggles such as depression/anxiety, grief and loss, addiction, low self-esteem and attachment trauma which results in adult relationship challenges. My experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling is the connection and level of comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your intimate struggles.
I believe we all have the answers we need within us, that we are spiritual beings having a human experience and our purpose here on Earth is to evolve and thrive. Challenges allow us to grow and learning to deeply surrender and just be with uncomfortable emotions helps us to evolve into a deeper awareness and higher consciousness. We can dip our toes in the water, so to speak, and choose to ignore challenges when they are present, or jump off the metaphorical high dive and face our challenges head-on, taking the fast track towards evolution at lightning speed.
Looking within and reaching out to face our struggles when we feel stuck, is a courageous step forward. Finding that right person with whom you can trust will listen with an open heart, and who can help access your inner guru is at times exactly what we need to move forward. It would be my honor and privilege to be that person for you, to hold space for you and with you, and help you move at whatever pace you are ready and willing to go.
Thank you for having the courage in taking that first step.
I offer messaging, live chat and phone sessions and I look forward to working with you!

Ms. Henner is very personable and knowledgeable. This is my ex first experience seeking counseling and would highly recommend others needing guidance to take the step knowing there are well trained insightful counselors out there like Ms. Henner.
After my first session, I felt relief and a sense of hope. I am looking forward to working with Wendy. Not only did she provide counseling but she is also providing tools and resources in between sessions.
She's great and she responds during conversation, she asks questions and has made suggestions that make sense to me. I appreciate that.
Wendy Henner just gets it- she understands. Wendy talks to you like she's in your own living room. Whether you're an atheist or a fully devout Christian- Wendy gets it. She really does. She's down-to-earth real. I respect her a lot.
Wendy is kind & honest. I have gotten a lot out of our sessions.
She's wonderful. Down to earth and incredibly helpful for my anxiety. In just a few sessions there is already improvement.
I've been working with Wendy for only a short time but she still has managed to positively impact my life. Two thumbs up!!
Truly feel like she just gets it. Where I’m coming from, what I mean even when I can’t put it into words exactly. She’s patient and provides practical feedback that I can apply to improve several aspects of my life.
I haven't been with the program very long but Wendy Henner is highly professional while, simultaneously comforting. I was not sure about continuing the service but, after how well she listens / takes advice and speaks / gives advice has encouraged me to continue trying it out.
I have been very pleased with Wendy as my counselor. She has been thoughtful and caring as well as respectful with my personal issues. And is always willing to offer explanation for what I am going through in an easy and understandable way without making me feel upset or silly for feeling the way I feel at times.
I am so glad I was connected with Wendy through BetterHelp! I was facing a particularly stressful time, and she has helped me understand how to be more conscious and make deliberate choices in anxiety-producing situations. She has gently and helpfully encouraged me back to center when I get caught up in the details of some new “issue” that feels pressing, but is actually distracting me from my bigger goals. Wendy is a truly genuine and warm person. She listens with empathy, and will also be honest and direct (which I value very highly in a counselor), and help you be more honest with yourself. Her kind sense of humor has given me a fresh perspective on frustrating situations, which allowed me to change them rather than continue repeating patterns that hadn’t been working and felt impossible. I highly recommend working with Wendy!
Wendy talks to me in a way that makes me feel like it's okay to feel the way I feel sometimes. She's super caring, and has been giving me worksheets to help me out, which they have! She's all around a very amazing person.
