About me

I am a BACP registered counsellor and have been helping people since 2013.

Everyone has problems in their lives that need to be sorted. But, for most people, this is a daunting process that they put off over and over again. So book an opportunity to deal with the past and look forward to the future—a chance to solve your problems once and for all. I work alongside you, respecting your time frame and budget constraints. Get in touch to find out more. Compassionate help that doesn’t cost the earth but could change your life forever.

Person-centred counselling can be an effective way of resolving feelings and problems. You'll have greater insight into your actions, thoughts, moods and behaviors. You'll feel listened to and understood, whatever you are going through. Even with the most supportive family and friends, you may need space to explore your feelings privately.

As your counsellor, I will,

- provide a safe, confidential relationship for you to explore your feelings,
- be honest with you – congruence,
- try to understand your point of view – empathy,
- not judge you – unconditional positive regard.

In your sessions, we will explore any difficulties to improve your well-being, emotional and mental health.

You will;

- talk about your problems with someone trained in counselling and therapy,
- relieve the stress you feel,
- have a place where you can tell all of your deepest secrets without feeling judged.

I generally check messages here twice per day Mon-Fri and respond as quickly as I can. I do appreciate your patience when it takes a bit longer at times, as I may be tending to other clients or professional/personal responsibilities.

We all need to talk about challenging issues sometimes. Whether it's family, relationships, or mental health, counselling is a safe place for people to confront the past and shape their future. Sometimes it seems as if there's no time to pay attention to our thoughts and feelings---much less consider how they're affecting us. Let's talk...

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for William Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I’m very pleased with Billy, I feel as though he listens to understand and then offers very valuable input. His insight into problems areas is so concise that I have nothing but faith in his ability to help me.
During our sessions, I always feel at ease and confident to say whatever is on my mind.

William Smith is a extremely calm down to earth and kind person with some very great quotes and sayings and a twinkle of humour to impart during sessions. Being able to acknowledge and bring about an insightful Open perspective for me to consider how to feel or approach concerns/worries states of mind I am in. I highly recommend William as a courteous therapist.

Billy is intuitive and very empathic. I have found the sessions comfortable and easy. I can be avoidant, and there's just something about Billy's non-judgemental and warming demeanour that helps me to feel calm and settled in my vulnerability. I would recommend him to anyone who has things that they feel guarded about.

I have only spoken to Billy once so far but he has already made some of my thoughts a lot clearer. I'm really looking forward to the next chat we have.
