About me

My name is Yessica Mendoza, a Licensed Professional Counselor based out of the Treasure Valley in Idaho. I graduated from Boise State with a master’s degree in counseling in 2020. My experience includes working with young adults and college students. My approach is based on principles of Individual Psychology (i.e., Adlerian theory). Briefly, an Adlerian approach to counseling emphasizes the individual's strivings for success, connectedness with others, and contributions to society. Together, we will explore your unique lifestyle in an effort to understand your current ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. When people feel understood, accepted, and safe, they begin to learn and grow and, consequently, interventions can then be more effective in guiding them through the challenges that they face.
