About Me

Hi, my name is Yohalinny Veloz and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New York. I have a Master of Social Work Degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I have worked in the social services field for 14 years and have been providing counseling for over 4 years. Throughout this time, I have had the opportunity to work in various capacities and providing an array of services. Some of these have been within child/family welfare services, teen and family therapy (individual and group), LGBTQ, working with individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, renal transplant candidates and recipients, and individuals that engage in alcohol and/or substance abuse.

I primarily use the following concepts: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy, yet am flexible in providing other interventions if they are more suitable for your needs. Together we can work as a team towards a healthier and happier life. I look forward to working with you.

Reviews

Written by J.E. on Jun 29, 2020 after counseling with Yohalinny for 2 weeks on issues concerning relationship issues, and coaching

Yohalinny has been an extremely integral part of my support system through a very difficult time and circumstance in my life.

She has been nothing but kind, considerate and attentive to my needs and how I’m feeling. I never feel judged or misunderstood when we discuss the ins and outs of my life, no matter how “small” the issue may seem.

This experience has completely altered the trajectory of my recovery in the best way possible. I’m in such a good place now, in large part to my experience with Yohalinny and BetterHelp.

Whenever I need her, I know she is here for me and to help where she can. I’m extremely grateful for this experience and my decision to explore therapy.
