About me

I am a knowledgeable therapist - Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, who takes a non-judgmental, open-minded, practical approach, with an understanding that we are all different. Utilizing this approach, along with evidenced-based practices, I educate, encourage and empower clients to increase growth and healing.

I have first-hand experience with the military culture. I am a veteran and I was a military spouse. I understand the challenges that the military can bring - from military trauma, separation due to deployment, to combat-related stress.

I am currently independently licensed in Washington state and Kentucky, specializing in addictions, primarily substance use. I am experienced working with individuals who struggle with mental health disorders - depression, anxiety, trauma and issues coping with daily life stresses. I am no stranger to teens and young adults as I have worked in a youth group home setting.

I look forward to working with you towards wellness and wholeness!!!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Yvette Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I knew I was ready for change and growth when I started therapy. I knew some things would be hard and some things I may not want to do. Yvette meets me where I am and is always empathetic, but gentle when trying to get me to change my habits. I have had multiple “ah ha” moments since beginning therapy. I’m so happy I decided to try it. Grateful to have Yvette in my corner to cheer me on when needed, but also to hold up the mirror when needed.

Hands down she’s the best. She doesn’t hold back what you need to hear the good and bad. She actually listens to you and then send the feedback your way. I really appreciate her so much

Yvette is kind, smart and empathetic, but once she understands what's going on she doesn't shy away on calling you out or being more direct on what needs to happen. I enjoy a more active involvement by a therapist as it pushes me gets me out of my head. Thanks for all that you do Yvette!
