About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. My education was obtained at Texas A&M University - Kingsville where I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Arts In Psychology and a Master of Science in Art. I have worked with clients in correctional and residential settings. Taught classes in Anger Management and Domestic Violence. Over the years I have worked with clients dealing with addiction, sexual abuse/offense issues, victims of sexual abuse, grief, trauma, anger, anxiety, coping with life changing issues, physical and emotional abuse . I am also certified in Anger Resolution.

My counseling approach is client centered, cognitive behavioral, reality and the recognition everyone is different and should be treated with respect. Life is a classroom and if you don't make mistakes how do you learn, but to learn from them we must forgive ourselves.

As a counselor I support my clients and respect the courage and determination it takes to grow,

Yvonne has given me many tools to help me work through my anxiety and depression. She’s helped my realize things about myself that I hadn’t been able to uncover and work towards healing my inner child, accepting myself as worthy and figuring out what makes me happy. She’s listens without judgement and makes me feel comfortable to open up.

Yvonne is very caring and warm. I was comfortable with our process right away. I would recommend her to anyone that needed to talk through difficult and personal issues. I am very grateful for both her and Betterhelp.

Yvonne's guidance over the last two years has been a life changing experience for me. She has brought me through several catastrophic situations and I emerged intact. I don't think I would be where I am without Yvonne's insightful help. The only reason I am leaving as I no longer can afford the cost.

Very helpful! Would recommend if you need a patient person who listens!

My experience with Yvonne has been great. She listens, and she finds at least one thing I can use later as a 'hook' to focus on between sessions. I am a therapist myself (every therapist needs a therapist!) and I have recommended BetterHelp to clients who have asked me about therapy for their relatives (since obviously I could not be their therapist.)

I find that Yvonne can relate to me and my belief system as I am older (in my early 60s) and sessions go quickly as a result. It's neat to have someone to talk to and to keep me accountable for my own self-care, which is Article 1 of the Code of Ethics I follow (CCPA, Canada). I find it easy to share my feelings and my struggles with her. She always seems to be able to cut through the fluff - gently - and get at the heart of the matter. I highly recommend her services.
