“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” -Lou Holtz
You’ve carried the load long enough, now you’ve made the decision to be proactive. There is strength in knowing when to take control to pursue a better outcome, and I would like to be a part of that empowering process! I am excited to meet you and look forward to the therapeutic rapport we will build throughout your journey.
My name is Adrienne Parker and I’ve worked in the field of mental health for over 8yrs providing individual, group, and family therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I’ve always been fascinated with studying and interpreting behavior and knew as a child that I wanted to study the mind. I studied Clinical Mental Health at Chicago State University and graduated with my Masters in 2012. I gained valuable experience working in Hospital Emergency Depts (Crisis Team), Psychiatric Hospitals, Residential Treatment Centers, Private offices, Group Homes, and in the Community. I moved to Houston Texas 5yrs ago where I still serve the mental health needs of clients in a community setting.
I am culturally competent having worked with a variety of populations, backgrounds, and lifestyles. I have provided therapy and treatment to all ages and a range of diagnoses and issues such as: Depression, Anxiety, Youth Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Mood Disorders, Adjustment Disorder, Childhood PTSD/Trauma, Character Skill Building/Self Esteem, ODD, Stress Reduction, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Parents of Children with Special Needs. I am open to discussing interfaith matters, as well as issues and concerns within the LGBTQ community.
My therapeutic approach is honest, direct, and effective. My clinical approach is client centered, goal oriented, and solution focused including: Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Imago Relationship Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychotherapy, Brief Therapy, Art Therapy, and Nurturing Parent. I am comfortable and fully qualified to work with all ages and phases of life, but specifically have a passion for working with children, adolescents, and teens. Make your next move your best move.
“Every good therapist has a personal goal, and that is to build self-sufficiency in their client. I know that goal has been achieved when I am no longer needed. That is a goal I am dedicated to reach every time.” -A. Parker

Adrienne is attentive, understanding and warm. She made extra time for me because of my timezone which I really appreciated.
Adrienne has helped me a lot and helped me think about my challenges in a new way. In the weeks I have been talking with her things in my head have improved markedly. Highly recommended!
She’s understanding and she listens and I’ve enjoyed our sessions. I feel really change after a few sessions with her. I love her!
Very insightful, very honest. I've only had two sessions but I already feel better, she looks at what's realistic and she has definitely taken so much weight off my shoulders already.
Very helpful in helping me find a time slot that worked for me while living abroad.
