About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Minnesota and Alaska with 10 years of experience. As a readjustment counselor I worked with military veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. I assisted clients with various concerns associated with combat and sexual trauma including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substances abuse, and career challenges. As an independent contractor working with the BetterHelp platform I help many people from all walks of life who have experienced physical and emotional trauma and/or abuse.

My counseling style is interactive but somewhat direct as I believe in honesty and facing our fears. I also believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I respect and honor all, including those who identify as Straight, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness and acceptance & commitment therapy. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Alaine Lagasse. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Alaine has really helped open my mind to thinking about things in a different light. I’m working on how I respond to various scenarios and she is assisting me with this. Also I am working on acknowledging what I value most in life. Alaine provides helpful worksheets sent through the app that grows my awareness. She recommended a great book called The Four Agreements and I am loving it. She makes me feel heard and that my feelings are important. Alaine is a wonderful listener and has useful feedback. Thank you for your time, Alaine :)

He was a great listener who understood where I came from, but also challenged/encouraged me to be a better person and strive to live a happier, more balanced life when it came to my anger and the management of it.

Alaine dove right in to the muck of it all with me and really focused on helping with the things I felt mattered most. I appreciated that she didn’t spend 3 sessions with intake, bunt instead asked me questions about my past when it was relevant. She has a menagerie of tool, resources, and books to help guide. She is constantly learning more to help her clients. I appreciate her so much in the wisdom she has helped me to gain. I am forever grateful

Alaine is the exact personality type I need. She challenges my current thinking and is thoughtful in her responses. She helps me pinpoint the issues I need to work on first and long term.
