About me

Hello!

My name is Alexander Haney and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Specialist and training in evidence-based practices. I primarily use Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure Response Prevention which focus on the unique needs of the individual. During my 5 years of experience, I have specialized experience in several areas including depression, OCD/anxiety, stress, and couples counseling. I enjoy working with individuals who are new to the therapy process and who are willing to work toward goals. Please consider, this process is NOT a one-off session - it is a course of treatment whereby you need to be committed to change and healing towards a happy more grounded and integrated future. Therapy is something you engage in, not something you receive and while like most things in life that are incredibly difficult to do, they tend to be the most fulfilling.

My hope is that by the time you have gone through this process, you will have a really clear understanding of exactly who you are, what your struggles are, what you need and what you want while becoming empowered to go out and build a brilliant life worth living.
Whilst integrated therapy works far quicker than long term analysis or counselling, I can offer both long-term and short-term therapy depending on your preferences and needs. Some clients like to continue therapy for a long time to continue investing in themselves and their own personal development. Whereas others work on their current issues for a time, then drop down to less frequent sessions, or simply return as and when needed.

I consider what I do to be a tremendous honor and privilege to be apart of your journey forward, wherever that may be. Talk with you shortly!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Alexander Haney. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I came to BetterHelp because I started talking about some of the traumas that happened to me with friends and family and quickly realized that I did not have the tools I needed to cope with the physical response that came with talking about unresolved traumas. Over the last 3 months, Alex and I have went through the things that happened to me. He provided me with tools and resources I needed to deal with the residual physical responses that come with my past trauma. The activities we performed in therapy have not only lessened my reactions, but allowed me to come to terms with what happened. In most cases, the work that we did has stopped the residual pain from coming back when revisiting that time in my life. He 100% knows what he is doing and if you have trauma in your past that you need to deal with, he is your man.
