About me
I believe that everyone has the tools they need to implement the changes they want. As a therapist, it is my job to help you access these tools by providing new broader perspectives and understanding how contexts and perspectives may be limiting you.
I practice under the theory that relationships work in systemic ways, meaning when one aspect of a relationship is not functioning as it should, another aspect will suffer. Through collaborative discussion, I will challenge you to broaden your perspective in relationships, allowing you to access your internal tools to implement the necessary changes.
Sometimes life is complicated, similarly, our sessions may be to. We may laugh, cry, and we may even disagree, all in an effort to reach our goals and or alleviate symptoms. If you are willing to do the work together, we can help you create change.
For our first session, try not to stress. I try to keep it light and easy, just getting to know each other. I know most clients are stressed and anxious before we even meet due to the circumstances that brought them in, the vulnerability of letting me in, or just life in general, and I do not want to add to that. With me, first sessions are more of a meet and greet unless the client expresses an urgent specific need.
My biggest strength is collaboration. Together with clients, we can foster productive and healthy relationships within your family and support systems. As well as a safe and supportive relationship with yourself.
I love working with couples. I strongly believe a lot of conflict and tension in people's lives can be resolved through clear communication and taking a moment to listen to others' perspectives. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their relationships or roles in relationships.
I also love individual work, helping people clarify the chaos they feel in their heads and providing the tools needed for good mental health.
