About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan with over 20 years of experience working as a mental health and career counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, stress and anxiety, PTSD, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, motivation and confidence as well as career difficulties . I worked for 5 years as a therapist n a private mental health clinic (clients were children, teens and adults) and worked with students of all ages as a counselor at the local community college for over 20 years. I am also credentialed to provide supervision for LLPC's to get their full licensure and enjoy working with these new counselors.

My counseling style is warm, interactive and supportive with a focus on client ability and possibility. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. I don't believe in "labels" that stigmatize. My approach is a combination of Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe in being client-centered and supporting clients where they are at. It is important for me to include the client in the treatment planning process and help in monitoring success.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Reeves really cares and has helped me to gain some tools to use in my day to day life to help my healing, even from day 1! I was nervous as most people are when they are new to therapy, but Dr. Reeves made me feel completely comfortable.

Dr. Reeves is the best, compassionate and knowledgable.

I have learned so much during the months I’ve spent with Dr. Angela. I’ve learned how to breathe, like literally breathe! I never knew the relation between anxiety and oxygen supply and know I consider it every time I’m feeling anxious.
Also, starting, I was carrying a lot of guilt. I thought I had failed in my last relationship and would constantly beat myself up about it. Dr. Angela taught me the P.A.C method and now I’m able to focus on actual facts rather than negative emotions. This was a major lesson because I apply it to my life daily in order to remain rational.
Dr. Angela and I spent a lot of time creating my list of non-negotiables. She taught me that I could set very specific standards for myself and don’t have to compromise any of them. This gave me a great boost of confidence! I’ve learned that I am important and always come first.
Dr. Angela was also able to help me accept a very difficult health diagnosis. Instead of dwelling on the matter, I’ve discovered ways to make my day to day easier physically and mentally. Most days I forget it even exists, which also has boosted my self-esteem.
Dr. Angela is very kind and only wants the best for you. She will never stand for you beating yourself up or speaking down on yourself. She even advised me on work and school and how to be successful in all aspects of my life. She has a lot of experience with counseling you through a work-life, school-life balance. I couldn’t have asked for a better cheerleader. I’m going to miss her!

Dr. Reeves is amazing. I appreciate how she breaks things down so I can understand better. She always makes sure I understand the take aways and gives me homework to do after our sessions. Highly recommended.

Working with Dr. Reeves has been a tremendous blessing. I have learned so much from her experiences and knowledge. I do not know how far I would have gotten without her. She is so compassionate and God-fearing. She never judges and helps me look at situations from a different perspective.
