I am a Licensed Marriage and family therapist family and marriage counselor licensed in New Jersey and Delaware with 6 years working in outpatient mental health. I have also worked in residential treatment facilities for at risk youth and I have been a mental health therapist providing counseling for foster care children. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, attachment issues, couples counseling which includes divorce mediation, adultery, or phase of life issues. I also work with those struggling with relationship issues. parenting problems, career challenges, and oppositional disorders. I have worked with veterans and military families during an internship in Hawaii. As a military spouse from a retired Army soldier, I have a first hand understanding of the struggles and anxiety, stress, and emotional struggles that present in the military culture. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm and inviting. I am down to earth, I ask questions for a deeper understanding and most importantly I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I like for my clients to also know I am human and despite my education or training, life presents stress and challenges for everyone. My approach to therapy is I follow the client and during the assessment, together we will discuss what treatment modality may be best. i do this because therapy models aren't always a one size fits all. With that said, its very important to asses and observe because a persons needs takes of different forms depending on circumstance and situation. I will do what is clinically necessary to get the help you need, even if its not with me.
I am glad to see that you are ready to take control over your emotional and mental health. Its takes a lot of motivation and courage to work on yourself and more so not be afraid to seek help if needed. I look forward to working with you on your journey to becoming a healthier, happier and confident version of you!
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Anneka Dockery. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I have been working with Anneka for a year now and I can't say enough how lucky I am to have her. She is kind, observant, and a great listener. She has always been there when I needed her.

Anneka has changed my life in the short time I have known her. She was very warm and helped me through some tough times. She was very kind and allowed me the space to process so many things with guidance. She is such a true professional and I recommend her for anyone.
Ms. Dockery is a complete game changer. She's reliable, honest, caring, and outstandingly gifted with guiding the untangling of emotions that life can bring. She's worth her weight in platinum, and one would be very fortunate to know her. The world needs more Annekas.
I can express my perspective and Annecka listens and delivers with love so I feel much better after each session.

Anneka offers warm, clear, practical support.
I am relieved and pleased to say that Anneka was the best possible counseling match for me. Her culminated education and wisdom make her an invaluable resource for parents of young children. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Anneka; she saved my sanity and helped me refocus my thoughts. Sessions with her are unpretentious and safe. For anyone experiencing anxiety, postpartum depression, or just COVID fatigue, Anneka is an incredible sounding board.
Anneka Dockery has a warm and calm demeanor that is perfectly suited with my our personalities. She has helped us move forward to a place that we can work our our issues in a positive way. I would recommend her to everyone.
I wish I had met Anneka years ago. She is more than a competent counselor. She is a wonderful person as well. Grateful to have met her. Thank You!!!
I haven't had therapy in years but I worked in a therapist's office for the last few years. I must admit I was extremely hesitant to try again, but Ms. Dockery really made getting back into it possible with kindness and ease. She has great active listening skills, she offers amazing advice and doesn't make me feel pressured or anything negative. Ms. Dockery tells me what I need to hear and not what I want to hear and is empathetic as well as wise. After ever session, I feel like it helps me grow and become an even better woman than I came into the session as. If tipping your therapist was ever a thing like we tip waiters, I would give her $100 every time. She is quite spectacular and I highly recommend her to everyone to try. I promise you will NOT regret it.
I feel very grateful to have Anneka as my counselor, she is very patient and insightful.
