Hi! I am Dr. Ashley Bordelon, a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst living in Oregon. I received my Master's degree in 2006 and worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor prior to working with children and families for the next decade. I returned to school for my Ph.D., which I received in 2018, at Louisiana State University. I completed my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I am a licensed psychologist in Maryland and Oregon. My experience in diagnosis and treatment of disorders ranges from those typically seen in childhood (challenging behavior, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc.) to anxiety and depression.
My therapeutic techniques center around the underpinnings of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Mindfulness, values-based living, and behavior modification are all parts of this process. I will help guide you to learn to live with your feelings and thoughts and not against them, while helping you change your behavior to live closer to your personal values for the long-term.
Please remember that BetterHelp is not intended for crisis therapy. If you are feeling suicidal, please call 911 or go to the hospital. Additional resources can be found at https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org. Clients who are experiencing these symptoms will be referred to in-person therapy or another therapist on BetterHelp due to the nature of services provided online.
I look forward to working with you on your journey!

Dr. B is really amazing. She makes me look forward to therapy which isn’t an easy thing to do. She’s also really helped me by giving me the proper tools and resources I need to work on myself. Dr. B has a huge heart and it isn’t a secret that she really cares about her clients.

She is the best
Dr. Ashley has really helped my mental health improve! I'm a college student and I really struggle with balancing my mental health, my homework, and my social life. She has given me a bunch of tips to get everything in order. When I am struggling she is always there to help!
Great response time, active listener.
I have only spent a couple of weeks with Dr. Bordelon but I am already feeling a bit lighter and empowered in this short time. Dr. Bordelon has provided very useful guidance and ways to practice how to communicate better through worksheets. She has also been thoughtful with her feedback on my questions so that I have a better understanding of myself and how to be more assertive in situations where I have felt challenged and overwhelmed. I know I have more to learn to reach my goals and feel confident I am working with the correct person to reach those goals.
It took awhile to sync up with the right counselor, but Dr. Bordelon is IT. I feel heard, cared for, and like I'm not alone. Best experience with therapy yet.
Dr. Bordelon is a empathic and experienced therapist. I was lucky to find her on betterhelp.
Highly Recommend Dr. Bordelon. Great listener with excellent advice. Always available and checks up on you which is an added bonus. I appreciate the service.
Dr. Bordelon has been awesome and the ACT method has definitely helped a lot. With the therapy you get out of it what you put into it and I feel like I’m getting everything. Validation, understanding, alternative thoughts and ways at processing have been extremely helpful towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Highly grateful for Dr. Bordelon for showing me new ways to understand, appreciate myself and grow in my communication skills and situational awareness.
Ashley is extremely consistent and helpful! She's been a wonderful listener and checks up on me regularly, but not so much that I feel any pressure if I don't reach out. She has a warm personality and made me feel supported from our very first meeting. Ashley has been a great listener. She's never made me feel judged or unheard.
I have never done any kind of online counseling before so I was nervous to see what was going to happen. I have had trouble in the last seeing a therapist in person and spending so much time finding a good match. But with Dr. Bordelon I felt comfortable right away and new she was a great fit.
Calming, caring, quick to listen, slow to speak. Feels like I'm the only person in the room.
