About me
Do you struggle with anxiety or depression?
Are you trying to adjust to big changes in your life?
Are you stressed and just can’t seem to shake it?
I can help.
My name is Barb Dunn and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. With more than 20 years of experience, I have helped many who have hit a bump in the road of life. I work with teens and adults who are looking for a better outcome for themselves. Because of my experience working with teens, I am well prepared to help with parenting issues. I am an easy going person with a sense of humor. I think it’s healthy to be able to laugh at our mistakes, gain some insight and move forward. I take a straightforward approach and use cognitive behavior therapy as well as brief solution focused therapy to achieve a positive outcome.
When I am not working, I enjoy being outdoors and being with my family.
I am here to help you. Whether it is anxiety, depression, adjustment, stress management, self esteem or LGBTQ concerns. I am here to help. Let’s get started!

Barb was incredibly kind, supportive, and understanding throughout our time together. She was a great listener and always offered different perspectives that helped me see things in a new way. She gave me practical strategies and helpful tips that I could actually use in my everyday life. She also encouraged me to recognize the positives and good things in my life, which really helped me shift my mindset. I’m so grateful for her support and would highly recommend her!

I am a fellow professional, and have been a client of Barbara's for just over year. She listened and empathized with all my professional and personal concerns and anxieties. Self care is so important to us as counselors, especially during this Covid crisis. I'm so glad I was able to confide in Barb and listen to a perspective from another professional counselor. It has been very convenient, not having to attend appointments outside of my home or office.

Barbara has helped me immensely through the anxiety that comes with the current pandemic and state of the world. She has given me tools to help me understand how and why anxiety happens.

In a short time Barbara has helped me make sense of my anxiety and has already taught me useful ways to cope with it. Instead of my go-to of covering it up and making it worse in the long run. I feel more confident and able to face things head-on. She's easy to talk to and makes things relatable.

I like Barbara's way of consulting, she doesn't emphasize on the issue, she tackles it from a different perspective which helps with the paradigm shift, and she offers effective ways and tools to help solve the issue.
She mostly responds only 4 times a week in the evening. Having a specific number of responses made me specific with my messages and questions and made me count on myself more and not be in a need for counseling all the time.
