If you're reading this right now, it is likely because life has gotten hard. Maybe you feel exhausted, confused, anxious, depressed, etc... And maybe you even feel like there is no hope that things can get better or that you'll ever be happy again.
Things CAN get better. Healing DOES happen.
My name is Beverly Furstenberg and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri. I have been in the field for over 9 years now. I have worked with various populations over the years with a wide variety of concerns, ranging from psychiatric conditions, to addictions, trauma, homelessness and even domestic violence. I have obtained advanced training in the treatment of trauma. I have been providing counseling services exclusively with BetterHelp since April 2020.
My counseling style is warm, empathetic and interactive. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own lives, and it is my honor to help them find the options, skills and perspectives that can empower them to make changes, to heal and to live their best lives. My approach combines a strengths-based perspective with solution-focused brief therapy, humanistic and cognitive behavioral therapy. I individualize my approach with each client to ensure their concerns, needs and goals are met.
For therapy to be effective, rapport must first be established between the client and counselor. I take the therapeutic relationships I build with each client seriously and I am always open to feedback from my clients, regarding the sessions, what they find to be helpful/unhelpful, progress, switching counselors, questions, etc. I encourage honesty and transparency as this will help to improve rapport and strengthen the therapeutic alliance. I strongly believe in having and maintaining appropriate boundaries within the therapeutic alliance between clients and I.
Therapy doesn't have to take a lot of your time to be helpful! I offer 30 minute and 45 minute sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the hours of 10a - 3p CST. I am accessible through the messaging feature 24/7 and I typically respond within 24 hours at the latest, excluding weekends and holidays. I offer live video and phone sessions.
It takes courage to seek help and a willingness to make changes that pave the way to a happier, more fulfilling life. We will work together as a team to address and work on what is most important to you. You don't have to do this alone.
I look forward to getting to know you and serving you!

Better Help has failed my son terribly. The only good thing to come of Better Help is Beverly Furstenberg. I would recommend Beverly 100%.

Beverly is an amazing. She truly cares about me and wants to help me be better. When she went on maternity leave she insured me that she would be back and i could sign back up with her. When i needed her after her maturity leave she was right there like we never missed a session.

Beverly is such a great listener. I love having sessions with her because I feel heard and she offers great insight. Since I have started therapy with her, I can tell a difference in how I approach things. I am grateful to be able to talk to her through my life's transitions.

I’m not much for writing reviews, but I will say Beverly is one of the kindest individuals that I’ve ever talk to and I think anyone would do well to have her as their therapist.

Beverly was very understanding about my crazy schedule and forgetfulness at time. Very kind and asks the right questions. I am seeing someone else until she comes back from maternity leave.

Beverly is kind, never judgmental, caring, and super easy to talk to. She makes me feel like my problems are valid, and she always knows the right thing to say. She is so easily able to listen to what I say, and ask a question that provokes so much insight and self-reflection that make our sessions feel optimistic and productive. I’ve never met anyone who listens as well as she does and never forgets a single name or person that I mention. Talking to Beverly is like talking to a friend who’s just also really good at making your life better.

There isn’t enough space in this box, nor do I have the words, to articulate how much my time with Beverly has benefitted my life. She’s simply an excellent counselor. She’s down to earth, relatable, patient, understanding, and caring. She’s the kind of counselor that if you didn’t have the patient/doctor relationship, you would want her has your friend. You honestly couldn’t ask for a stronger candidate to help navigate yourself along your journey towards mental healthiness.

I came to Beverly with anxiety concerns and she really helped me understand where that was coming from. I feel like she always has very useful strategies I can implement in everyday life. On top of that I feel like I'm being heard and like she is invested in my mental health. I never have to remind her of a person or situation I have talked to her about in a past session.

I haven't been working with Beverly for a super long time, but she is so supportive and positive, and makes it easy to keep up with yourself. I'm able to send her my journal entries and she always gives me things to think about as well as a pat on the back when I'm successful in working towards my goal.

Beverly has helped me a lot in the short time I’ve been working with her. Beverly truly listens and provides feedback that is helpful, and truly insightful. Positive, empathetic, gentle and real. Beverly has been incredible for me. In the short time I've been discussing things with her, she has already given great confidence in going forward by helping me develop healthy habits versus older negative habits. This is precisely what I was looking for in counseling...not talking to someone endlessly who never gives guidance or advice or suggests new ways of thinking. She's everything I was looking for and I'm excited to see how else she will help me process and grow.

I’ve had the pleasure of being counseled by Beverly for just a little over a week now, and I couldn’t possibly be more happy with my experience. She has listened intently and also given me questions to answer to help me further understand my own issues. She’s very knowledgeable in the mental health aspect of things and she shows me nothing but encouragement and reassurance. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for help in her area of expertise.
