I earned the Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University and as an ordained Minister have served several congregations over many years. As part of that experience I earned the Master of Education, Counseling degree from University of North Texas, Dallas and have worked part-time for several years as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a Child Advocacy Center with children, teens, and non-offending adult caregivers.
My training and experience includes Cognitive Processing Therapy, certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Gottmans' Levels I and II, volunteer work in the PTSD unit of a Veterans Affairs facility, past certification in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, 12 years certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, and volunteer Chaplain in local ambulance services.
I respect each client as a person of sacred worth and am a good listener, seeking to assist the person in effectively managing difficulties and attempting to discover the underlying causes of chronic problems. I truly enjoy talking with Reverend Carpenter, and his pastoral guidance is always inspiring. Our conversations are also meaningful and uplifting.

I like Bruce, although we've only had one session. He seems to understand what I am looking for in therapy and wasn't judgemental.

Bruce is a calm and stable presence. He's helped me through a few really frustrating situations. It feels more like talking to a friend rather than a therapist. Peaceful and professional... highly recommended.

While I've only had one session with Rev. Carpenter, I get the impression that he has a lot of wisdom and experience, which can help me get a different perspective on certain situations. I look forward to getting to learn more from him as our sessions continue.
