About me
Hello, and welcome - I'm glad you're here!
I specialize in trauma-focused therapy for adults, particularly those working through the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Many of my clients are high-functioning in their day-to-day lives but continue to experience anxiety, depression, self-doubt, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, difficulty feeling secure in relationships, or other patterns connected to experiences from their past.
My approach to therapy is active, structured, and focused on deeper healing. I primarily use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to identify and process the experiences underlying current symptoms. While there is always room to address important things happening in your life now, our sessions will not primarily focus on processing or problem-solving the events of each week. My goal is for us to understand why you're struggling with the things you're struggling with and work directly on those underlying causes.
Before beginning trauma reprocessing, we'll make sure you have a solid foundation, effective coping and regulation skills, and an understanding of how trauma and EMDR work. We'll then map the experiences contributing to your current difficulties and begin actively processing them.
**I am likely a good fit for you if:**
* You are an adult who wants to work specifically on trauma or painful experiences from your past.
* Your day-to-day life is generally stable.
* You are highly motivated to engage in trauma work rather than primarily seeking supportive counseling.
* You are willing to learn and use coping skills outside of sessions.
* You want to understand the deeper roots of your symptoms and actively work toward resolving them.
* You are looking for a therapist who will collaborate with you, provide education and structure, and actively guide the treatment process.
**I am NOT an appropriate provider for:**
* Court-ordered, court-mandated, or court-involved therapy, including treatment where documentation, evaluation, testimony, custody recommendations, or communication with attorneys or the court is anticipated.
* Substance use disorders, addiction treatment, or situations in which active substance use would interfere with trauma treatment.
* Active suicidal crisis or a current level of suicide risk requiring crisis intervention, frequent safety monitoring, or a higher level of care.
* Active domestic violence or other situations in which your immediate safety is not reasonably established.
* Frequent or ongoing crises that require therapy to primarily focus on stabilization and crisis management.
* Couples or family therapy.
* Clients primarily seeking brief, solution-focused counseling or a weekly space to vent, receive support, or process current events without a focus on deeper trauma work.
These concerns do not mean that therapy cannot help. They simply require a different type or level of treatment than I provide. If your primary needs fall into one of these areas, please select a therapist whose practice specifically addresses them.
I work exclusively with adults (18+) and do not provide therapy for children or adolescents.
My availability is typically between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Mountain Time, Monday through Thursday.
If your life is relatively stable, you are ready to actively work on your trauma, and you're looking for therapy that goes beyond managing the events of the week, we may be a very good fit.

Only amazing things to say about Camilla. Experienced and professional, but also wildly personal and connective. True understand of therapy practices and scope of healing.

Camilla has always been great at working with my schedule to set session times. She answers back to my messages quickly and offers a wide variety of ways to work through my challenges. She has helped me to get off antidepressants through helping me to develop better coaping tools and I will always be grateful for that.
