Carol Dickey, LPC
About me
I am licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with over 25 years of professional work experience. I am also a RN, with years of behavioral health experience, currently working with the geriatric population. I have experience in the mental health, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and caregivng arenas. As we age, there are a multitude of challenges that are presented, affecting our physical and emotional health. No matter what we are faced dealing with, there is support available to help manage your daily life. No matter what our age is, the goals are to live our best life , seeking peace, empowerment, and purpose.
I have worked with the older population , helping clients with stress, anxiety, coping with grief, coping with loss, motivation, self esteem, self image, depression, and physical challenges. As a therapist and a RN, I am aware that at this stage of our life, there are stressors that are unique with the older population.
Much of my practice and experiences have evolved into being an advocate for women, supporting their mental health and growth, by teaching new tools and goal setting to achieve their best selves, and by identifying barriers blocking their sense of self-love and respect.
My practice will often use Christian principles for growth, renewal and self-awareness.
I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

She is an awesome therapist with great insight, worksheets to look over, and is always available to text outside of normal therapy sessions. She is also very kind and gentle with how she shares information and always asks if you are ready to approach a subject.
