About Me

Hello, I am Dr. Carol Parham, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned a doctorate degree in education and a master’s degree in counseling. I am an adoption-competent trainer/therapist and a certified trauma therapist. Throughout my mental health internship and licensure years I have worked with children, adults and families toward improving how to navigate through life’s daily challenges.

I have provided therapeutic mental health services for children and adults that include topics of anxiety, anger, stress, depression, low self-esteem, living placement adjustments, adoption process, bonding and attachments with peers and adults, relationship building, separation from loved ones, grief, loss, end of life, and physical/emotional traumatic abuse.

It is of the upmost importance to provide everyone with care, compassion and understanding. I believe in a holistic and organic way of exploring each person’s wants and needs, as well as encourage active participation to develop a personal healing journey of what one’s life is meant to be. I offer client centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, expressive activities and/or mindfulness activities; all of which contribute to creating a safe and comfortable therapy experience.

Dr. Carol Parham is a kind, gentle soul with a great understanding of her field and client, she worked with me and never gave up even though my struggles were very deep seeded. She gave me many options and worked together in improving my mental health greatly.

Really helpful, I've only seen her for one session so far but I find Dr.Parham very supportive and a good listener. She comes up with a variety of ways I can tackle the issues I am facing.

Dr. Carol Parham is very intelligent, understanding and respectful. She knows how I feel without me having to say it, she always tries to help in various ways and succeeds. She is very resourceful, great to talk to, and gives out ideas and suggestions that end up helping me in the long run, albeit taking a while.

Dr. Parham somehow knows exactly what I need to hear. She is constantly checking in on me to see how I am doing and replies shortly after I write to her, She is amazing, I am so happy she is helping me.

She’s works at your paste and tries best to understand you. All in all I can she is one of the better ones out of the bunch
