Hello and congratulations on making the first step towards your new journey! My name is Charnell Benjamin-Carter. I’m a born again Christian and licensed mental health counselor practicing for over 10 years now. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University and completed my Internship at Hyde Park Counseling Center, an Inpatient Residential Facility for women specializing in Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse. My advanced training in Trauma Informed Care and Addictions is beneficial to healing and restoring the family unit.
If you have been having problems in your relationship, I’m sure you’ve received lots of advice from friends, family and maybe even other counselors and wondering why things still seem broken. For years counselors have taught couples to "fight fair" and have active listening skills. While these tools are helpful, it’s not just that simple. I believe in addressing not only the symptoms, but the core issues. I use a multifaceted approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Conflict Resolution and Family Systems among others. My professional training is backed by over 10 years of experience working with couples and families exploring our faith, reducing depression & anxiety, exploring what makes relationships work, how to navigate through rough times and repair from trauma and infidelity. I apply some of the same principles taught in the 12 Step Program to treat addictions adding insight on the Disease Model of Addiction. I have assisted individuals and families for over 10 years, and I would like to help you!

she really listened to me and helped discover root cause of my problems in such a short time and allowed me to figure out where I needed to start my healing process helped me more then I could of on my own
Charnell is a fantastic person to speak to. She has helped me during a time where my anxiety has manifested very acutely. She is an active listener who uses tools and CBT (in my case) to help you build a framework to support your own mental health. I would highly recommend working with her, thank you Charnell.
I really enjoyed my first session with her. I felt like she drew out the most important, & relevant things from me in order to better guide my care and growth. I am really glad I was paired with her. Thank you.
Charnell is the best! I always feel better after our sessions because Charnell brings me clarity and assigns weekly “homework” to work on. Very well-spoken and knows what she’s talking about!
Charnell is sweet. She listens and gives me tools to use outside our session.
Charnell has pushed to me to refocus on what is important. I am so grateful for her thoughtfulness and ability to challenge and comfort me within the same space. I would most definitely recommend her services!
Charnell is great to talk to and I am finding she is helping me a lot. She is calm, level and has practical ideas that are really helpful. I always feel positive and focussed after our sessions, and am really glad to be matched up with her!
Charnell is engaged and really shows in interest in helping resolve issues. She takes the time to check in and is very present in each session. I highly recommend Charnell.
Best first experience of therapy. Very helpful and supportive
Charnell’s compassion and understanding have been so helpful as she guides me through healing some long-ignored trauma. She works with me at the pace I’m ready for, while pushing me to work just a little harder.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CHARNELL AND HER COUNSELING ABILITIES
Charnell listens, hears me, gets the things I am not seeing right now
Charnell is a lovely person to talk to. She is relaxed, has a good balance of lightheartedness and seriousness, and asks helpful questions that you wouldn't think of asking yourself. I'm thankful for her and highly recommend.
From hands on advise to support in general matters Charnelle is a great listener, calm and understanding. She gives me a good feeling. Her advise is valuable.
Charnell was very professional, helpful and supportive. She was quick to understand my problem at a time when I was overladen with emotion and depressive feelings. She listened to me with patience, empathized with me and showed understanding. I simply needed to talk to someone when the world was like turning upside down for me, and God brought Charnell to me. I am grateful and will highly recommend her.
Charnell is clear about moving forward and gives me things I can do to make a real change. She's given me the space to be kind to myself and be okay with making mistakes. She's given me real ways to create a better life, but she never intrudes or judges.
Charnell has been a great help to me and my relationship. She helps both parties equally and understands specific circumstances. Very well rounded and motivator, I never want to let her down.
Charnell is very supportive and gives some incredibly helpful insights in what I'm experiencing so I feel better able to deal with difficulties.
My mindset has shifted already within 3 sessions and the techniques used in our sessions have really enabled me to give myself the love I deserve. Thank you Charnell!
Charnell is helping me to process some major relationship trauma, and working through this with her guidance is very helpful. Rather than going round and round in my head, I am learning to examine specific issues and move past them.
She is a really good listener and really helped me see things as they are.
I have really enjoyed working with Charnell. She has been lovely and helpful. Quite supportive, knowledgeable and I absolutely love working with her. Definitely a good match for me.
I feel so relaxed around Charnell. I'm quite an awkward person so the way I feel I can talk about anything really puts me at ease. Thanks Charnell!
Charnell is absolutely amazing. I went through a few different counselors on this app and didn’t mesh with any of them but I clicked with her right away. I love that I can speak to her about anything and how knowledgeable she is, whether it be about relationships, family, work, religion, etc. I can tell her all aspects of my life and she is able to give me meaningful feedback that I can actually use. The advise she’s gives is realistic and practical. There are also times where we may not agree but she steps up and challenges me in a positive way. It’s been beneficial to my growth and I’m thankful for the relationship we have. Overall, my experience with her has been great.
Charnell has been the best therapist I've had, she really understood my problems and gave me practical solutions to fix them I would recommend anyone to give her services a go.
Charnell is very helpful and is helping me through a tough time. The app allows me to feel like I always have support and instant messaging allows me to get things off my chest and have my counselor help me when I need it.
