My name is Cheryl Scott, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the USA in the state of Florida. I have 25 years of experience providing counseling and psychotherapy.
My counseling approach is solution focused and team oriented. In the team approach, you and I form a team. You will be an active participant in your therapy. I will construct a individualized treatment plan for you, and you will work on making life changes according to your plan. You will learn and practice new coping skills in a variety of ways. You will learn from targeted worksheets, thought provoking questions in journaling, and various reading and video materials. Through this process you will discover your deeper self and find courage to change. I use a holistic approach to treatment with a mind, body, and spirit perspective. I am a Christian and provide insight from the Christian perspective.
If you are ready to make your life change, I am here to help you. I use a broad variety of treatment techniques including, but not limited to: Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Rational-Emotive Therapy. I treat a variety of conditions, from anxiety and depression to making life change issues and solving relationship problems.
You can work with me in a variety of ways. You can meet with me for a once a week live session (video, phone, and chat). You can additionally work with me in asynchronous messaging with written messages or audio messages. In the messaging portion of the Better Help app, you will be able to discuss issues and work on helpful worksheets that will guide you into productive problem solving techniques and thought provoking questions. **Please note that I provide limited video sessions and conduct these only on Wednesdays.
