About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with 14 years of experience working in the mental health and addiction field in the state of Texas. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including addiction, anger management, veteran issues, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, career challenges, and just finding direction in life.

My counseling style is warm and casual. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I am not here to judge anyone. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, rational-emotive, and existential counseling. We will work together to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique and specific needs.

The hardest thing to do is ask for help and I applaud you. I am here to support, encourage, and help you "figure things out".

I look forward to working with you!

Christi has been such a great person to work with! I met her right before going through multiple big life changes and she has helped me think through my situations and come up with actionable solutions to my problems. She is a great listener and knows how to kindly point out the things I am trying to work on when I don't recognize them myself.

I've only had one session so far

Christi is straight to the point. If that’s your cup of tea, great. If you’re looking for empathy, look elsewhere. After a brief discussion of my issues, she asks something along the lines of “so what do you want from therapy?” In my opinion, the therapist should be the one helping someone figure out why they are there. That was a frustrating question for me to hear. Her advice was blunt and not helpful. I’d recommend her to someone with shallow issues, not to someone who has years of trauma. In my experience with her (which I will admit was not long), she was quick to assume details of my life and did not make much of an effort to learn the whole story. I did not think I would have to call a family member to vent about how frustrating a therapist was.
