Hello there-- you made it! Thank you for taking the first step in contacting me!
I am a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensed in Florida with over 15 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked around the world- in Mexico, in the US, in Germany, in Japan, and in US, and worked in a wide variety of settings, including extensive work in community mental health, substance abuse/addictions, child welfare, and with military and veteran populations. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including couples/relationship issues, anxiety, depression, immigration-related issues, abuse and trauma, divorce and separation, and grief and loss, among other things. I have also worked extensively with the Marine Corps in the area of force preservation and suicide prevention, and have worked with other branches of the service as well, both in the US and OCONUS.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I honestly believe we can work together to find solutions for almost any problem and that we can emerge from challenges stronger, and even more resilient. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness training, and other techniques. I also have incorporated many things I have learned in my travels and interactions with psychology in other cultures and countries into my extensive training. I will tailor our interactions and treatment to help you meet your goals and work collaboratively with you every step along the way.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

I have been very pleased with my counselor. I feel she truly listens and is very non judgmental. I think she offers fair views and acknowledges my situations. We are just getting started and I’m looking forward to her advice more on how I need to proceed in my current situation. I highly recommend her especially the live session I felt went very well. I feel she truly cares and wants to see good resolution for me.
Dr Christina Gonzalez is very supportive, she is always there and offer very specific experience to help you become better.
She is warm and fun, but professional. Makes me feel heard and that there is hope.
Dr. Gonzalez is very understanding, open minded, honest, and open about herself, which makes her easy to talk to. I am surprised that I have found someone that is this easy to discuss these things with.
Very kind and helpful counselor. Accessible and thorough with my needs.
Christina is a highly experienced, warm, and compassionate person who is easy to talk to. She instantly made me feel like I was talking to a close friend who genuinely cares deeply about the well being of others.
I can not express how much I appreciate Dr Christina help. She is the most compassionate caring person I ever saw in my life. I was suffering from PTSD and career difficulties and she made me feel validated and accepted and renewed my energy so much that i now feel that I can face ANY challenge. Imagine that one session made me feel so much better because of her warm nature. If anyone is facing any challenge then I will recommend Dr Christina Gonzalez because she made a big difference in me after just a couple of sessions.
I had my first session with Dr. Gonzalez, and I am already feeling a sense of relief. I was nervous before our video call started, as opening up to someone I don’t know is a little uneasy. Christina made me feel very comfortable; she listened and I understood and felt connected with what she was saying. Very grateful.
I want to share that I feel so fortunate that BetterHelp matched me with Dr Christina Gonzalez. She was perfect for me at a time when I needed help with some personal difficulties. Her understanding, support and help to work through my recent transition into retirement after 17 years of working in an area I was passionate about to a complete lifestyle change moving onto my sister’s property. She was very professional through out discussing other personal family issues with her.
I feel like I have arrived a much more stable and confident place to be able to move forward with my new life journey!
Thank you Dr Christina
