Hello! My name is Christina Rankin and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor (LISW-S). I earned my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Ohio Dominican University and my Master of Social Work Degree with a concentration in Clinical Services from Ohio State University. I incorporate an eclectic approach to therapy, incorporating person centered, solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and motivational interviewing methods.
I have worked in the mental health profession for twenty years with adults, adolescents and children. I’ve worked advocating for children in foster care and have provided individual, family and group therapeutic services through crisis counseling, addictions programming, and community-based counseling. I have worked with individuals experiencing trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, substance use, low self-worth, life transitions, and a wide range of other emotional and behavioral health concerns.
I recognize the need and value of a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe it is important to work from a client centered and trauma informed lens. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I work with individuals to strengthen self-efficacies as I believe steadfast in hope and a resilient spirit within each of us. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking a first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. Chris is like a weekly anchor in my life. I missed one session after seeing her for 8 previously and WOW! I did not realize how much benefit and value I was receiving until after missing a week. She helps me stay grounded and focused and teaches me ways to deal with anxiety issues. She's my touchstone.
