Hi. My name is Christine Toler, Chris, and I earned my Ed.S and LPC- MHSP in the state of Tennessee, and New Jersey. I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 2010, and a School Counselor since 2006.
I started being a believer in therapy when it first helped me over forty years ago, (as a child). I thought what a wonderful way to get to the root of the problem... and get rid of it. Since then I have been working on myself as a client as well as a acquiring a license to work with clients including teens, adults and families. I focus on solution based and non-judgmental cognitive therapy. I believe understanding a problem is not the end of the work.
The action we take to support a positive change... is what changes lives. And while I have experienced that in some very important areas... I continue to grow... daily. And I choose to be transparent about that because I believe it is important to the work that my clients know I understand how it feels to be in the client chair.
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, doubt, guilt, grief, or all of the above, I believe I can help you.
Additional areas of focus:Relationship issues, Grief, Anger management, Self esteem, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue, Abandonment, Attachment issues, Communication problems, Divorce and separation, Forgiveness, Guilt and shame, Impulsivity, Narcissism, Obsessions, compulsions, and OCD, Panic disorder and panic attacks, Personality disorders, Young adult issues
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Christine Toler. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Christine is a thoughtful and compassionate listener. Her gifts are her humor and her empathy. She shares from her own experiences and can gently guide you to your best choices and ultimately your better self. While Christine does not tell you anything,... she shares about herself and makes room for you to discover truths for yourself.
Christine has valuable nuggets of wisdom that she casually drops in conversation that will resonate long after the phone call ends. Her wisdom and kindness foster courage deep within me.
I have grown and learned through the the time I have spent with her and I am certain anyone who is fortunate enough to be connected with her will do the same.

I love Chris. She is kind and understanding and I feel so safe telling her what is bothering me. I have felt such a difference these last few months in my mind and my spirit when I was in such a dark place. Chris never tells me what to do, but reminds me that I have options and that has been such a relief for me. She is amazing and I hope everyone who uses this app feels the kind of lightness that I have felt since downloading. I went from knees to my chest crying uncontrollably on the floor with my mind constantly racing to completing tasks and making better choices for my future. I am so happy I found her.

Chris is truly amazing. She’s helped me through some of the hardest times of my life and given me all the support I could ask for. She provides a variety of coping strategies and reminds me that we can only take on one day at a time. Her attention to how you're feeling and sharing her personal experiences makes you feel like you are not alone in whatever you are going through. 100% recommend her to anyone.

Christine is a great listener and helps me keep things in perpective. If I get overwhelemed, stressed, or feel out of control, she opens my eyes to the source and offers couping stratigies to deal with it. I enjoy our conversations and she helps me remeber to be grateful for the good in my life and in the world instead of me always focusing on the negatives and what ifs. She has been a God sent and I appreciate her guidence and support.

Chris is so great. it usually takes me a while to trust an open up to someone but from the start her warm personality and the way she carries herself made me feel like she was someone I could definitely trust. Her perspective and insight opened up a whole new world of understanding for why I feel the way I feel. The work sheets she provides and the advice she gives helped from day one.

Christine is so warm, so open and so friendly. It's impossible not to have a strong rapport with her from the very first session. Christine is very knowledgeable in terms of psychoeducation and often shares this with an awesome sense of humour! I have really enjoyed my sessions with Christine and anyone who has the chance to work with her in therapy is very lucky and are in very good hands, just as I have been! My mood felt lifted after speaking with her each time. She has a very reassuring, very calming presence, where everything just feels a lot lighter in the world. She alleviated any confusion I had about things that were happening and difficult things I was feeling and she provided so much perspective and clarity to my situation. I really needed that at the time. Thank you, Christine!

Christine is very warm and easy to talk to. She is very empathetic and offers ways of reframing situations or dealing with them in a thoughtful manner. I was nervous to talk to a new therapist, but as soon as I spoke to her I felt right at ease. I highly recommend Christine and have actually already recommended her to a friend who is contemplating using BetterHelp.
