About me

I believe that everyone has the ability to improve and to enhance their sense of hope, peace, wellbeing and balance in life. It is my privilege to work collaboratively in a nonjudgemental and accepting space to support and empower individuals in the process of personal exploration and development. Through the consideration of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, responses and inner dialogue we can work together to improve your current state.
My approach to therapy draws on a variety of Cognitive Behavior Therapy approaches with a strong emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have received training directly from Albert Ellis, the founder of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. I have had training in Reality Therapy and Choice Theory directly from William Glasser, founder of Reality Therapy and Choice Theory.
Over 20 years of working with people has taught me that the most important goal is to provide you with the tools and strategies to help you help yourself. Together we can help you to make the changes you want to make no matter what your current starting point is. Let's start a conversation and get the journey underway.

Great Counselor and genuinely cares about the individual he is working with. He creates strategies to resolve issues that he uncovers and works towards a goal. He knows what he is doing.

Dr. Curtis is the first therapist that I've spoken to. He has made me feel comfortable enough to talk about some difficult subjects. He seems well prepared and like he has put a lot of thought into the journals I have shared with him prior to our sessions. It is still very early in my therapy, but I feel confident that Dr. Curtis can help me.

Dr. Curtis is phenomenal. His approach was very supportive, laid back and helpful. He was able to sort through my madness and help see the areas I need to focus on. Breaking down my chaos into smaller more manageable steps to work towards creating a manageable life for myself. I always felt heard and understood by Dr. Curtis. So thank you! I appreciate everything you did in supporting me in my journey to develop coping strategies to live a more productive and meaning existence.
