About Me

I have been a licensed marriage family therapist in California for over 24 years. I am what some people would call a "wounded healer", because I am have been sober and smoke free for more than 30 years. I am also in recovery from compulsive shopping, excessive anger, co-dependency and love addiction. I believe anyone can change their life for the better, because I have changed mine for the better. If you love someone who does not love you back, I can help you STOP loving them and help you to start loving yourself. If you cannot say no, I can teach you how to say NO in a kind way and mean it.

I addition to the areas mentioned above, I can also help you to over come anxiety/panic and depression. I use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy to help you to make the changes you want to make in your life. You are always in control of your therapy and you decide My training and experience as a hypnotherapist enable me to help you reprogram your self-talk so that you can have a happier, less stressful life free from bad habits. You will have higher self-esteem and more motivation.

I have been in the client's chair, so I know first hand that it takes courage to begin the journey to a better life. You do not have to journey alone ; I will be your companion.

Cynthia is so open and understanding. She is patient in getting to know you and what you're focused on healing, she gives advice and even recommends videos and articles that will help better you. This is my first time in therapy and after my experience with Cynthia as my therapist I definitely won't be going back to before I ever started therapy. I would definitely suggest Cynthia as your therapist! :)

Cynthia is an amazing therapist and person! I’ve been working with her for a few months and progressed a lot. Cynthia has been great. I communicate with her the way I feel most comfortable and she doesn’t push me to do it another way. And she gets back to me so quickly! She is also clearly listening and knows what she is talking about. I’ve only been talking to her a couple weeks, but she has already pointed things out that I never realized before.

I've been thinking about going to therapy for a long time and finally made a move when in a crucial and difficult life transition. Cynthia is my first therapist and I am surprised how great the experience has been and it’s not even 2 months yet. I was even able to get insights from her in our first session. I am amazed at BetterHelp's capability to select a therapist that seems perfect for me. Cynthia seems to know what I am going through and have the perfect questions to help me get to the root of the issues. Prior to therapy with Cynthia, I had a hard time really opening up 100%. Cynthia is warm and kind. But perhaps more importantly, In just a couple of sessions, she has shown me how uncommonly incisive and insightful she is. This is not my first foray into talk therapy. I have had great and not-so-great therapists. She definitely lives among the former.
