About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Arizona. I have been practicing for sixteen years and own a counseling practice in Surprise, AZ. I am also approved as a clinical supervisor in AZ and work with both interns and associate counselors as they pursue degrees in counseling and acquire hours toward independent licensure. I find it very rewarding to help give back to the future generation of mental health practitioners. I am a native of WI but have called AZ my home since 2006.

While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I specialize in individual, couples, and family counseling. I also focus on adolescent and young adult issues and have extensive experience in this area. As a bio-psycho-social-spiritual counselor, I believe in treating the whole person. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance/Commitment Therapy, and Family Systems approach to counseling. Psychotherapy requires an active effort and commitment from the client, this is important in order to most effectively identify areas of concern and desired treatment goals. Counseling is an exploration of deep, personal life issues and areas of one's life that may have been buried for any number of reasons.
