About me

I became motivated to pursue a career in psychotherapy through my lived experience as a recovering addict. I began this work twenty years ago as a peer counselor at the facility that helped me recover from a life threatening addiction. I am fortunate to have had a rewarding and successful career in the mental health field which includes working for 16 years as a fully licensed therapist, providing over 10,000 hours of individual and group psychotherapy, running my own professional training company, and doing research into college preparatory models for adults with severe mental illness. My specialties include treating severe and persistent mental illness, chemical dependency, compulsive gambling, and trauma-related disorders. My approach to psychotherapy is very client-centered and while I am eager to learn and apply a wide variety of treatment modalities I believe this work is highly individualized. I enjoy working with a diverse client base and my priorities are to build strong relationships and work with clients to apply their individual strengths towards whatever life challenges they are seeking to overcome.

Daniel is great, I've only had a few sessions with him and I've already gotten a lot out of them. He always asks what I think the most productive thing to discuss is which I really appreciate, he listens well, and offers good, actionable advice.

I feel completely at ease talking to him and he’s very good at keeping me on track. I tend to get off track frequently dealing with many family members so this makes it wonderful in sorting out what I can do to change things within my home.

Things are going well so far. Couples counseling is different but I think he's doing a good job helping us identifying and thinking about things we've been distant from. Just kind of letting us lead, buy also stepping in when we don't know where to go.
