My name is Danielle Poehlman and I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I also hold a Master's level certified addiction professional credential. Many of my family members have suffered from addiction, mental illness and trauma. After losing two older siblings under complicated drug and mental health related circumstances, I decided to become a therapist. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and obtaining a master's degree in mental health counseling from Capella University, this goal was finally achieved.
Through my own personal growth and educational journey, I have implemented a variety of modalities to facilitate the wholistic healing of mind, body and spirit. I am a Certified Reiki Master with over 20 years of hands-on experience. I am knowledgeable on the concept of Highly Sensitive Persons or HSPs, (also known as Empaths), as I have found a large number of clients can be assisted profoundly with just simple education and practical coping strategies.
My counseling style is motivational and strengths-based. My goal is to utilize profound understanding and my own empathic skills as supplements to psychotherapy in order to assist in the healing process. Through rapport and trust, we will work as a team to tailor treatment plans and therapeutic dialog to suit individual needs. I have assisted clients from a multitude of backgrounds and issues, including addiction, anxiety, grief/loss, abuse, trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, relationship issues (kink-friendly) and more. These issues do not discriminate. Those that appear the strongest often struggle the most. Those that appear joyful sometimes reach the depths of despair. There is no shame in asking for help; it is, in fact, one of the most courageous decisions you will ever make. Please reach out.

Danielle is my fav. She is patient, kind and very easy to talk to. I really enjoy our talks and she has been helping me tremendously. Thank you Danielle!
Danielle has been a great help to me and has helped me to cope with a narcissistic parent. She is a genuine person with a huge heart and an open mind and I would recommend her to anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, and difficult relationships.
I have been battling depression and anxiety for years and have been slowly becoming out of control with my feelings. Danielle has made me identify the biggest concerns and has allowed me to see the positive. I am a much better person, teacher, daughter and mother because of her
Danielle is so patient and understanding. I am very comfortable with her and she provides the necessary support that I need from a counselor at this time.
Danielle has been incredible. She is the first therapist that I feel like I could tell anything to not feel judged. I feel listened to and respected every time I reach out to her. She even took time out to help me through a crisis, a severely low time in my life. I cannot thank her enough. She is helping me change my life, one step at a time.
Danielle is absolutely wonderful. She is insightful and encouraging, and I couldn't be happier with the work I've done so far with her. You'll be in good hands if she is assigned to you. She responds as soon as she is able, and is willing to give her all for her patients. Highly recommended.
Danielle has been amazing. Very understanding and resourceful.
Very professional and understanding therapist. I've been through many therapists on BetterHelp and this was the ONLY one that was able to help me. BetterHelp should use her as the bar for which other therapist on this platform strive to be like. Thanks Danielle.
Danielle is kind, considerate, and she genuinely cares. She is there when you need her most and always ready to help however she can. She’s very understanding, non-judgmental, and very knowledgeable in all aspects of mental health and self care.
Between taking the time to do the things you suggested, having someone read my mind, it's been a good experience for me. I've been able to think more clearly and it's been invaluable to me. Thank you.
Just getting started but I feel very comfortable with her. She is very understanding and helpful.
