Dante Bruno

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 6 years of counseling experience. I have worked for private practices and agencies doing: outpatient therapy, mobile therapy, and school-based therapy as well. I have worked with clients that are struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, and other mental difficulties. I have also helped individuals that identify as being part of the LGBTQ community.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as my treatment modality. I have found that when clients are able to positively process their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors they are able to reach improved solutions to their struggles. It is my aim to create a non-pressurized atmosphere, helping the client feel supported in talking about what is upsetting them. Together we will work on developing an Action Plan, further promoting the therapeutic process.

Today is the first step on the journey you will be taking to improve yourself. I will be there for you to the best of my abilities, supporting you along the way. Together we will navigate through this process, with the destination being you feeling better.

I look forward to helping you!

Since I've set my default to always share my journal entries with Dante, and since Dante always replies with active listening style feedback on them, Dante and my journal tend to merge into one wholistic entity. It's like having a journal that talks back to me. That motivates me to write in the journal. It's hard to say which is more healing - writing in the journal, or hearing from Dante. It must be the combination of the two. A past therapist encouraged journaling, but never motivated me, and I kept falling away. Somehow, the Betterhelp journal system combined with Dante's reflection, keeps me at it. It's hard to quantify the growth I'm experiencing, but the nurturing keeps my troubles from erupting into crisis. The chance to complain to him frees me to refrain from complaining to family and friends. His honoring of my thoughts makes me comfortable with them, enough so to continue exploring. When I can't fit his suggestions into my lifestyle, he gets creative about helping me find an alternative. I feel like I still have a long way to go, but I have a companion who sometimes is a guide, sometimes a lantern bearer, and sometimes a reflection to ponder. Thank you, Dante.

Working with Dr. Bruno has been a life changing experience. He has been so patient and supportive while gently pushing me in therapy to address my concerns in a safe environment.

Dante is one of true most chill guys I know. He is very helpful and has a understanding about what’s going on. Highly recommend him if you are hitting a wall in your life.

This man is professional, and wise as can be. Talking to Dante doesn’t feel like talking to some stranger or doctor. It feels like talking to a long time friend who wants to help you & has your best interests at heart.

Thoughtful and I enjoy our time.

Dante is a very down to earth therapist and ready to listen to me stumble through my thoughts when we talked about any topic. He also pushed for specific goals each week, which I found to be a very good idea, and I appreciated a lot. He is also very personable and tries to interject humor into conversations.

As he was my first therapist, I do not have a lot to compare my experience to, I would say that his style is very direct and to the point as well. Most of our talks focused on one or two topics, but he tried to relate to a whole host of things that cause stress or anxiety. So I think his style is good if you want to drill down deep into one area.

I have enjoyed my time with Dante so far as my therapist. I was doubtful of therapy at first because my first therapist wasn’t a good match. He has gone above and beyond all of my expectations. He validates me, yet challenges me to challenge myself to be the best version of me. I couldn’t be more satisfied with how great Dante is. I would recommend him to everybody.

Very engaging, receptive, and respectful. Takes time to understand what you are trying to explain.
