Darla Cozzarelli, LCSW
About me
Hi, I’m Darla Cozzarelli, a licensed therapist in California. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, explore what’s bringing you to therapy, and work toward meaningful change.
I earned my degree from the University of Southern California and have several years of experience supporting adults through a range of life challenges. My work focuses on helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self esteem, and stress. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful and self aware, but feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns. They may understand what is happening but still struggle to change it, or simply feel overwhelmed by everything they are carrying.
My approach is collaborative, person centered, and insight oriented. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness based approaches. Together, we can explore the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and relationships while also developing practical tools to help you feel more grounded and confident in your daily life.
Having navigated my own mental health challenges, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to ask for support. One of my greatest strengths is building strong, authentic connections with clients while balancing depth with practicality. I bring empathy and understanding to our work while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I believe you are the expert in your own story. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity and care, working collaboratively to understand what you’re experiencing, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find approaches that feel meaningful and manageable for you.
Please note: I do not provide crisis or emergency services. If you're in crisis, call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)

I’ve had nothing but great sessions with Darla. It’s only been a few sessions so far but I already am seeing many tangible changes in my life and my mindset with concrete ways to improve. Darla is easy to talk to, safe, comforting, and quick.

She is very detailed oriented and actually wants to listen to your story and she has many engaging questions and continues conversations rather than ask me what I want to talk about because I don’t always know

Darla has been the breath of fresh air I have been longing for. She is caring, actively listens, and responds professionally yet humanly. I feel like she is a best friend with the sage advice without the judgment. I feel seen. I feel heard. I feel taken care of.
