Darren Boyce-Smith, BACP
About me
Hello, and welcome.
If you're thinking about starting therapy, you may be feeling anxious, uncertain or wondering whether counselling is really for you. You don't need to have everything worked out before we begin. In fact, many people start therapy simply knowing that life doesn't feel the way they want it to.
My approach is person-centred, which means I won't judge you, tell you what to do or expect you to have all the answers. Instead, I'll work alongside you to understand your experiences and help you make sense of what's happening in your life.
I believe that meaningful change often begins when we feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood. My role is to offer a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to understand what's happening for you.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent more than twenty years working in leadership and transport management. That experience taught me about pressure, responsibility and the different ways people cope when life becomes overwhelming. Today, those experiences help me meet clients with empathy, curiosity and respect.
I'm a Humanistic Counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP, and I provide online counselling for adults across the UK.
My hope is simple. If, through our work together, you feel understood, supported and better able to understand yourself, then we've made a meaningful start. If you think my approach feels right for you, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you for part of your journey.

Currently working with Darren, this is my first time doing therapy after a break up with the mother of my child. I find myself talking about stuff that I didn’t realise had affected me over the years. I’d highly recommend Darren
